Ha ha I've so grown to love this anime! it's grounded in realism but definitely has that follow your dreams message. Definitely a feel good anime. Decent dynamics between the characters, good comedy. It's pretty different from a lot of the shounen anime out there. I know I look forward to watching it every week, whereas with say Naruto or Bleach when a new chapter comes out it just read it out of habit and because I want to hurry up and see some ultimate closure that just ends both series.

The survial training begins !!!

I cant hike that much anymore 70 kilometers= 43 miles. They have to hike 11.7 kilometers a day or 7.7 miles. I wonder howmany episodes will this be

I believe somehow Mutta will break Bold's system and prove it wrong. It's just the type of thing he does.

thats what I am thinking too...he will disprove Bold's theory.

and maybe they will finish ... the opposite of what he thinks...

I too was adding up all those numbers from this last episode: 7.7 miles per day, and only about 25lbs of equipment? Huh! They should be runnng, and or be able to travel 70k in 2-3days!!!!! lol BACK IN MY DAY......(ROFL) (yeah right...)
Bold's presentaion talks to the candinates, in my opinion and experience, are really un-profesional. Considering almost if not all the candidates are older with PHD's, he's making himself look like a self obsessed jerk.
Nit-Pick:
Driving 100 mph claiming that by doing that he saved an hour each day. IF the average speed speed to work is 50mph, and he lives 50miles away, that means 1/2 saved each way-IF he he drives 100mph all the time-start to finish.....(I think we have some questionable math). And what, no cops???? lol Let me get him on the back of my bike doing 150mph.. HA-HA-HA
blah-blah-blah... All in all I thought it was an enjoyable episode with lots of ammo for settnig up the next ones.

BOLD IS ACTUALLY THE GROWN UP VERSION OF GUS FROM RECESS!!

In all things about this show I find I enjoy it a bit more if I don't think about it too hard, the math, the realism, etc. The characters are what make the show IMO and for that it is good

My take on the speed is that astronaut was scared at 90 miles an hour ? , I drive pretty fast in the my car and if I am not watching the speedometer I can easily hit 90 but I try not too, I dont have Bold's car , I know my car's limits .....and yes he is coming out as a jerk but I guess you need a bad guy here and there.

No highway patrol ey...MAybe he has a radar for cops or something.

Indeed you can jog a 7.7 miles but at 40 degrees celcius or 104 farenheit , I will melt...lol. Well they have at least 15 minutes of daylight
left. Once the sun is over those ridges it will be dark . But the stars will be clear and if you are use to reading the stars , you can hike further.

When I was a kid , I can say I never had a watch for along time until someone gave me one.It was a diffirent time in a different country.., I paid attention to the sun's position, the moon and stars location at night. I was actually pretty good in telling the time and direction and the clouds for the weather.

I turned it into a game and I can tell how many minutes has passed...those were good simple times man

First night at the dessert...it took them a long time to notice the stars lol...

Anyway about ....Nitta ....when he was making those phone calls while in this training , I knew its bad news,,,His turn for character background and development ....since he was in the same team with Mutta before.

The episode ended at the middle of Day 5

I was a little afraid they were going to give an episode per leader. While that wouldn't necessarily be uninteresting, I wasn't convinced it would be and was fearing things slowing down and slogging along too much. Glad they didn't do that. Will be interesting to see how they handle the Nitta situation, especially since it no doubt means he's going to have to open up a bit, giving all characters even more opportunity to develop.

Sometimes it's fun for me to dive into the story and as though it were reality and offer up thoughts on the characters; as per my last postings.
Commenting on writing this time: One of the most enjoyable things about this show, for me, is all the thought the writers put into character development. Even the character Bold, who I was beginning to enjoy as a possible nemesis, is now being written to show his thoughts behind other bellicose behavior.
Thus far, it's incredibly hard for me to actually pick out a "bad guy", because of the behavioral rationale shown through the perspectives and history of every person.
How am I supposed to put a definitive 'DISLIKE" on characters I continually find something I can empathize with!!! lol
This show and the writers have an incredible talent for doing just that, and I'm beginning to suspect that's one of the main themes of the entire show.
I guess that also parallels life a bit. While I can disagree with someone, it's really hard for me to not like most people when I get to know them, through their eyes.

Mutta and Nitta

Even though its all about the cell phone , the episode was still interesting and when it was getting good and the next you know it .,its over.

Please go back to space soon. Sadly I skimmed episodes 49 and 50. Would be sad for me to drop an anime after having spent 24 hours watching it but I just don't care right now... the music is still good...
