Definitely a change in tone for the series. While death is a relatively rare thing in American animation, having main characters die seems not so uncommon in Japanese anime, so I'm definitely curious to see how Space Brothers wraps this up.

The last manga I saw was a spoiler for me since I scan thru it at the Japaneses bookstore, and and so far I didnt see any .

Click to show or hide I thought it was really good to see Brian's brother again worrying about Hibito. How cool were Mutta and Azuma? Shame the NASA dude didn't listen to Mutta's advice. I'm hoping that there will be a happy ending though, I certainly don't want Hibito or Damian to die!

Yeah, he didn't even consider what their reasoning might be beyond the "easier to get up there", but I have a hunch that Azuma will speak up again. Don't know if you notice how they were focusing on Azuma's face several times before and after the tip from JAXA.

Offline	Permalink Reply Quote Posted 1/27/13 I thought dragging out the news of Mutta making the cut as an astronaut was humorously annoying, and the writers used it to at least inject the backgrounds of some supporting characters. The way the current cliffhangers are being written, seems to be trying to answer the question/joke of: "How long can you keep a turkey in suspense? ...Tell you next week!" I'm just watching to see which of the setup scenarios for rescue written about 3-4 episodes back, the writers will decide to use as a means of rescue; or indeed let the Hibito character die. Whichever, The shock value of the cliff-hanger endings, for me. has worn to mild annoyance, and is quickly becoming one of detached & amusing intellectual curiosity. In other words: *This Turkey is no longer in suspense.*
