This past fortnight I have had my wits, emotions and insanity tested to its very limits.
As I was sat there, happily watching the opening credits to my favourite anime show Gintama, I came to the realisation that after all this time I NEEDED Gintama in my week. Ironic really, as it turned out to be the last episode. I almost became emotional...and I was certainly stressed for the remainder of the day. But all is not lost - or so I told myself: "there's always Natsume Yuujinchou-shi. You like that show, Nathaniel. It makes you smile, you like smiling." WRONG! That night, was the last episode of Natsume Yuujinchou-shi as well (although, someone kind let that realisation wait until I tried to watch it just this Monday passed.) So tonight, I though: "Right, OK...there is still Chihaya Furu. You can at least watch that, though it doesn't hold a candle to the likes of Gintama or Natsume, it's still pretty good." Wrong, again. Even "Inu X Boku SS" has had it's final episode this week, and I didn't even care much for it. What's going on? Am I fated to be Anime-less for the forseable future? Can I survive it? Do I need to divert all non-essential finances to the procurement and consumption of Sake, crisps, coffee and painkillers to weather the storm? It certainly feels as though I've been bent across the table and just at the critical moment, my punisher has dissappeared without so much as a breeze from the whip. Somebody, help me! Send me Gintama and Natsume Yuujinchou before I start to re-integrate with society |

lol, I don't know how to help you (not being particularly familiar with Gintama, Chihaya Furu, or In X Boku SS), but this post is awesome.
I could suggest it is an opportunity to seek out something new. I have to do that all the time, being primarily a watcher of OVAs and 13 or 26 episode one-shots. |

Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou (The Daily Life of High School Boys) is also directed by shinji Takamatsu the original director of Ginatama. I'd give you a link but I'm not sure if it's a pirated broadcast or not. ANN says it was being simulcast by nico nico douga but I couldn't find it on their English site. I did find it on daily motion though. He also did a readily available series called School Rumble. As for Yoichi Fujita the director of the second half of Gintama I don't see much other work from him other than a series called Binbō-gami ga! If you're looking for good material on Crunchy I made a little list earlier today that I think are good shows that are on Crunchy. I'll repost them here for you.
Captain Harlock Galaxy Express 999 Cobra the Animation Fist of the North Star Speed Racer Natsume Yujin-cho Skip Beat! Usagi Drop Puella Magi Madoka Magica Pale Cocoon Time of Eve Moribito The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Chihayafuru Wandering Son School Days Un-Go Gankutsuou Mobil Suit Gundam Mobil Suit Zeta Gundam Mobil Suit Gundam UC Eureka Seven Nisemonogatari: I put this title towards the bottom because you need to watch Bakemonogatari first. Mitsudomoe Ramen Fighter Miki Squid Girl No reason to get depressed that Gintama is done, because there is still a lot more for you to discover. Overkill? I'm sure you were just venting because of the loss of your favorite show, but there is definitely a lot more series out their that you will probably like. If you can't find them here on Crunchy, they are certainly available if you look hard enough for them elsewhere. |
