Whoa, you're calling an extremely large percentage of the male population a pervert. I bet the guy you marry is a pervert then. I mean, we all know the internet was made for porn in the first place.

Alright, let's look at a couple studios. I'm only looking at the production aspect here, not publishing or distrubuting.

PLEASE NOTE THAT ANY FOLLOWING CRITIQUES OF SHOWS ARE ENTIRELY MY OWN OPINION

GENCO

-----

Media Factory

So, yes, a lot of times it does feel like the "Oh look, another animé about boobs!" and "Yay, another show about scantily clad 12-year-olds!" crap is overpowering a lot of the good stuff. But it's also being used to fund the good stuff, and to help the companies turn a profit. So I can put up with its existence because it allows for more shows to be made overall. It just so happens that over half of them aren't worth watching.

You got 1 thing wrong. Media Factory is NOT an animation studio. Do you not notice everytime they say the following program is brought to you by: .... メヂイアファクトリー (Media Factory) is on there. This just mean they're a sponsor of the anime. There a publishing company not a studio that draws or does animation for an anime. I know Genco is a studio but they're more of a production which deals with putting the episode together not the actual animation as well as a sponsor. Do you see Genco credited with the anime ZnT? No, it's credited by J.C. Staff. You should know by now what is the difference between a studio, production studio, and sponsor? I mean come on if you have watched this much anime. It should be common knowledge. As people prefer other animation studios to others for quality and series produced and could add in who's on the staff.

NOTABLE Studios are as listed:

I also agree with you in that the Anime industry now largely caters to perverts and fans of the echhi and fanservice genre. I wish they catered more to fans of plot and character development like KEY does.

You do know that Key is a visual novel company and not an animation studio. Their role is to of course develop the characters more as to make route more believable and to be able to sell. Yes Key has had some of it's novels animated like clannad, kanon, air, and now Little Busters!

If you believe the anime industry caters to ecchi and fanservice ,then blame manga , light novel or adaptation source. I'm sure the reason that an animation studio picks up a series is because 1 highly popular and 2 profitable. I know there are studios that overdoes the ecchi but hey they don't animate some random manga, light novel, or idea for ecchi.

i like the list, though how incomplete they are. i guess i n somewhat agree on the range of time if you don't include big name anime that were highly popularized for its time though you did include some.

I apologize if I was misinformed. My research for that post included going to ANN, checking the pages for a couple studios, and looking at the list of shows for ones with the words "Production" next to them.

Also: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=6660

ZnT page. Under "Japanese Companies", both GENCO and Media Factory are listed as "Production". J.C. is as well, but I wasn't looking at them for this.

Rather than attack the people, wouldn't it be safer to say that the anime industry itself is giving itself a bad name because it's producing those titles?

Can't help what people watch. They're not the ones releasing the shows.

And the anime industry caters to more than just you. You keep judging people based on your own taste and value..

The industry is producing those titles because it has to. Because that's what their bottom line wants to watch. Shows like that are guaranteed to turn a profit, if only because they offer more boobs.

I'm not mad at the studios for producing them, unless that's ALL they produce. A number of studios simply use those kinds of shows to fund more ambitious, artistic projects.

if he believes he can run the anime industry better then how it is being run now then by all mean I vote to give him a chance. Would be nice to see "change" in the fact anime comes out with "a lot" of ecchi shows. Not that I'm complaining about it, ecchi gives the anime a nice edge though it can be overdone and butchered by studios.

I don't believe that I could run the industry better. Even discounting that I have no formal business training, the existence of ecchi shows is necessary. It's just a painful necessity is all.

I will say one thing and this I am not scum but I did like queens blade/quwaser on a guilty pleasure level that's all those shows where. Strike Witches, ToLoveRu and Is this a zombie have more merit to them than those series but whatever. Another thing is.. "no pun if you watched that series" there is plenty of anime being produced with decent quailty hell last year alone had Madoka, Steins;Gate, Hansuka Iroha, Higurashi Kira Ova's, Nichijou, Fate/Zero, Gosick, Wandering Son, Mitsudmoe, Deadman Wonderland, Blue Exorcist, The Mystic Archives of Dantalian, Usagi Drop, Un-Go where are all above tier series 4/5-5/5 but that's my opinion...

After following this thread a bit I have to agree with Cecil.

There are still plenty of great shows that have been produced recently and are being produced as we speak. I just think that the time frame of the OP was one where Japanese and American companies finally understood how strong a market there was for anime internationally. Combine that with the nearly limitless access given by the internet and it will naturally give someone the idea that a certain scope in time was more productive than the others when in truth it was just the first period of it's kind.

Not better just different.

To add on to kufirst's response...

There are recent anime(s) that are good imo. Last year, I enjoyed Steins; Gate, Toaru Majutsu no Index II, Blue Exorcist, Anohana, Deadman Wonderland, Hanasaku Iroha, Infinite Stratos, Persona 4, and a few others series.

This year so far, I enjoyed watching Shakugan no Shana III, Another, Nisemonogatari, Waiting in the Summer, Listen to me Girls I am your Father!, and the current airing Future Diary.

Just everyone has their opinion. Some people like anime in the old school days while others moved on to the present. Hell, I'm watching Fate/Zero right now and enjoying it despite the fact that it's a prequel of the original Fate/Stay Night. There's even also a few series I'm looking forward to this Spring Season and some of them already began airing.

Basically, I enjoy any anime with a good storyline and avoiding the usual cliche and can give the viewers something unique and special to remember by. To say that anime airing in the 2002-2007 are better than today's is bit more of an opinion. Everyone has different anime tastes.

DitVB isn't a "massive boobs" fanservice show like the others listed, but it is a pedophile-centric fanservice show. Which is almost as bad. And this is coming from someone who ENJOYED both Strike Witches and Astarotte no Omocha. I consider it substantially worse than either of those.

No, it's not technically a fact in the truest sense of the word. It is, however, a very accurate general consensus. Which is close enough when it comes to stuff like this.

Very recent example: (SankakuComplex, NSFW NSFW NSFW)

NSFW NSFW NSFW

People who watch that are giving a bad name to the entire animé industry, both here and in Japan. If that's not sufficient reason to consider them scum, I don't know what is.

I keep attempting to reconcile you referring to Vampire Bund as "a pedophile-centric fanservice show", while apparently giving Astarotte no Omocha a pass. Having seen both shows, I fail to be able to reconcile that in my mind in any manner.

If you need further proof, since you mentioned SankakuComplex, go to their picture section and search for the main female character from each show, and see who returns more results. Given the nature of the images there, that should tell you which show appealed to that audience more.

As to your claim that, "People who watch that are giving a bad name to the entire animé industry, both here and in Japan", that is your opinion again. It appears you are yet another person that worries what other people will think about you watching anime because they may have formed an opinion based on a limited sample of what you consider the "wrong" kind.

If someone thought I was stupid for watching TV because they were under the impression it was all shows like "Jersey Shore", I wouldn't blame the people that watch that show, I'd blame the idiot that formed an opinion based on such limited information.

Indeed, that isn't sufficient reason to consider those people scum. That is my very strong opinon.

Are they doing any direct harm to anyone? No they are not. You feel they indirectly make you look bad, but one could say that about a lot of people that don't share there beliefs, but are associated with them in a group.

To pull some perspective from Zac from Ann you do have to admit that lotte's toy synopsis now matter the content was just... " a 10 year old succubi anime girl, needs to fellatio men out of their seed to live"... I admittedly chuckled at that being the sick minded person that I am watched the series and it was eh... 3/5 material. What I am more surprised at is that Yuu Haga a well known female lolicion artist got her own manga "which is vastly different from the adapt" let alone t.v. anime.

On dance in the vampire bund.. that whole durr hurr lotion scene happened once and only once it wasn't that big of deal and at least dance in the vampire bund has some meat to the story. I normally detest vampire anime but this was handled quite well for a series and i am happy that I can/do legally own a set on bluray/dvd or even stream it off of netflix. If you want to talk offensive I know of manga that will make any-one on this board load up a 10mm and point it blank range at their head but just ask me what that is :3

Well, everyone has their own level of perversion, their own values, and to what extent it plays in their life. A majority of people keep their perversion to themselves, but the right people, situations, or whatever else, can bring it out.
