If Crunchyroll can show that there were series with worldwide outside of Japan rights that earned an serious amount of extra money because they included a particular region, it makes it easier to get the show. But how do you show the royalties if nobody gives you the rights? And if nobody gives you the rights, why should people from those countries become members, anyway? That's why the ability of TV Tokyo to convince its partners in its different production committees is such great news. Its not a sure thing, but hopefully, the big expansion in worldwide rights for subscribing members will mean more members from outside the "big four" areas (North American, Oz/NZ, the UK, and Scandinavia), more royalties from more countries around the world, and more anime production committees decide to organize their rights so they can grant worldwide outside of Japan rights, and get a piece of the action.

This was one of the titles that I was most looking forward to this spring. Upotte has a strange premise, and I am a little tempted to at least watch the first episode.
