Is your list mostly anime that are likely to be more popular, or likely to be more fringe? The ones that there was competition for among distributors, they'll probably start getting more announcements tomorrow through Sunday, in line with the two cons this coming weekend. Not only will Crunchyroll likely get some of those on sublicense, but if the licensor was focusing on getting the license finalized in time for a con announcement, then putting together their panel announcement, there might not have been for Crunchyroll to even sign the sublicense yet ... which would mean more boxes showing up too. For the record, I did say "so far". :-) |

Which is why I asked what kind of anime you have on your list, since for more fringe anime, what they have picked up so far is likely to be fairly representative of what they are getting, while for the anime that the distributors have the most interest in, the anime they have picked up so far could well be extremely unlike what they have picked up so far. Whether its a trend or just the wrong part of the announcement period for the kind of anime you are looking for depends on what kind of anime you are looking for. |

They probably would have enough material partway through Fall/Winter for another 25 episodes, so the earliest a sequel could start is Fall of this year. I'm guessing doing this side-story now is exactly because they don't have enough material yet to extend the main story by a full two-broadcast-season run, and they don't want to try to chop the main story up into bits of 12 or 13 episodes at a time.. Yea I agree with you that the manga is not long enough for another season yet, but still I want another season soon lol |

Saki isn't in this one. This is a spin-off, focusing more on Shizuno Takakamo (the sitting brown-haired girl on the right). The only character from the original series is Nadoka. Why'd they still called it Saki is a mystery to me. |

I just made a mention of it in the proper topic space, but I figure to mention in reply that 2 of the 6 I had on my list got announced by Funimation (Is This A Zombie? Of The Dead and Lupin III). 1 of the 6, I have pegged as fringe, so I was never concerned about that. It was the other 5 that got me wondering. Of course, 2 of those 5 has yet to be aired (Dusk Maiden Of Amnesia and Eureka Seven Ao), so I'm staying tuned for any possible announcement with those. The sole 1 of the 5 I didn't mention? Medaka Box. |

So mostly shows that distributors will be talking to production committees about ~ Crunchyroll's early announcements are dominated by series that the distributors have all passed on already, with the occasional insider-access series from TV Tokyo where Crunchyroll's rights were clearly carved out from the beginning and not affected by distributor agreements. I'd bet that like the past two years, Crunchyroll will get a some but not all of the shows that distributors are negotiating for, so two to four out of six of those shows would be in the range that we'd have been expecting before announcements started. I'd guess its still probably in that range. Crunchyroll is getting better and better each year at landing the series that the distributors pass on, but it will be some time yet before all the distributors will sublicense to Crunchyroll, and if the Funico deal works out, its possible it will never happen. So there's going to be carve-outs among the higher profile titles for the next few years at the very least. |

I knew that if Funico had a hold of some, that the announcement would likely come after airing. Don't get me wrong. Crunchyroll is doing a great job at getting titles. They did acquire a lot thus far. It's just this time they haven't been hitting my list of spring titles. It happens. Besides, Moretsu Pirates and Sket Dance are carryovers that'll keep CR from being absent from my viewership. |
