Just now, I felt in the mood for watching some good horror anime. I just watched another, and loved it (perhaps that's why I want more?). Thus, I was very confused when I browsed your shows and clicked "search by genres" or whatever, and discovered that neither horror nor thriller is listed there? Is this just due to too few horror/thrillers being uploaded, or is it because you simply haven't added it?

On another note, I haven't made very throgough research, and I am wondering, is Crunchyroll only uploading currently ongoing anime's, or do they upload old anime's too? In the case of the former, are anime's taken down after a set period of time? This is probably a stupid and obvious question to some, but I just wish for a little quick answer that makes my life easer ^_^

Most of CR's animes were acquired as simulcasts. CR does occasionally obtain "library" titles, but with considerably less frequency.

Some anime do get taken down, but there is no set pattern, as CR has to negotiate a contract with each publisher, and those terms can differ. With some publishers (i.e., Kadokawa), the series is subject to being removed a set period after the series ends in Japan, but is usually not removed unless it is licensed by a company (such as Funimation). Some series expire after a set period of time, and would require CR to negotiate a new contract to keep it. Sadly, the views of most library titles are not sufficient to make this economically viable. TV Tokyo titles are likely the safest; CR probably has open-ended rights to those.

We're currently working on revamping the tags system, so I'll have to ask you to be patient!

We're working to implement something a little better than straight up tags, but it is still very much in the works.

Crunchyroll does shine when it comes to what is currently being shown in Japan, our Simulcasts are our bread and butter. We are working to add to the library.

Also, as TAO mentioned, depending on our contracts with the publisher a show may or may not be taken down after a set period of time.

(If you can't tell I'm a Gosick enthusiast)
