Fun final episode of the season... Hopefully not of the show. Kumagawa is a good character, glad he got at least one episode. His LNs are good too.

don't get why people like that character he's just.... lame.
Normally I like the angles that writer takes, but kumagawa leaves me so indifferent.
Its cheap writing tricks and I expect better from this.

When he first showed up in the manga I was generally WTH, who is this nasty little freak
but they build on him and he becomes....likable in a disturbing way.
He is the champion of losers, the guy who stands up for all those other characters who are destined to always come in last. The one who screams in rage and frustration at the existence of the Main character knowing full well that they will never get the chance to stand in that spotlight
He is the Anti-Shonen Hero.

I dunno, the meta is too far, that's part of what bugs me. I get what they're going for, but I think they blow it.

oh it is an unbelievably meta series.
What they have animated so far barely scratches the surface of it.
Anshin'in practically out metas the meta if that makes any sense.

No kidding. I mean Kumagawa says all the shit he says about manga as a metaphor for his own existence. Anshin'in however flat out knows she is a character in a manga.
I hope we get to see more of Medaka Box animated. The manga gets better as it goes along, not to mention a lot darker in some ways.

Sure, I dunno... not like I wanna convince people to not like a character they like. Still, it just feels like they're constantly elbowing you in the ribs and saying GET IT?! GET IT?!? with that character.

I haven't read the manga so I'm strictly going off of the culmination from season 1 episode 1 all the way to this last episode which is just a *yawn* way to end the second season. Never been more disappointed in a stopping point in anime. In fact, I didn't find this Kumagawa guy interesting at all. I think I stopped and started the thing like 4 times because I was so bored. Overall, it was a let down formally for me as a way to end it and leave you guessing for the future. I'm of the opinion right now where I won't be sad if there isn't a 3rd season animated. This is probably a pretty harsh response but I'm just being honest. It rubbed me the wrong way.

The DVD/BD sales appear to have been quite poor, so a third series seems very unlikely.

The manga isn't exactly burning up the charts but the Good Loser LNs have done reasonably well. Not looking great for the franchise really.

Not to necrobump, but..
Honestly, GAINAX would have been better off ditching the seasonal act.
It would be a bigger risk, but the anime's popularity would have increased if they kept it going weekly.
I didn't do the math or anything, but we'd probably be done with the anime by now. (Assuming it'd stop before the Jet Black Bride arc.)
