yeah I know that's probably the show's biggest hurdle. They are getting in about 2 manga chapters an episode, and the Flask Plan doesn't enter the story until chapter 22.
So the show isn't going to hit the stuff that made it popular until around episode 11, pretty much the end of the season they have slotted for.
If it gets a season 2 we will get to see the "Real" Medaka box
but at the moment, as has been said

The manga starts out the same as the anime does, but then the action just kinda comes in out of left field. I'd expect action to come in at around episode 8 or 9, or the start of 10 based on the manga.
The anime is somewhat of a letdown though. I thought I would be more enthusiastic about seeing a new episode every week.

Time to happily watch this anime weekly as it hopefully reaches the 2nd, and 3rd Arcs/seasons.
For those who keep saying "Everyone keeps saying Medaka Box is awesome, but I find it boring!!"
Just hold your horses, and keep watching until the story starts.
It's not like you have to pay 20 bucks per episode..
If you stick with the series, you definitely won't regret it.
