I was kinda disappointed by how Kaito couldn't save Ichika in the end but at least we know they get back together eventually. What I do like is that they left room for a sequel of some sort, probably involving MIB developing the tech to visit her. It was nice to finally get confirmation about Remon being part of MIB.

Um you don't think Remon near the end of the last EP going down an elevator in the MIB Japanese branch as a confirmation that Remon was a part of them?

The ending was pretty obvious I mean how often does the protagonist ever end up unhappy? I saw it coming when Ichika said she would have to leave eventually. But overall i liked the way it was done.

I would love to see a 2nd series to this, or at the very least some OVAs. Of course I will happily add this series to my DVD collection when it is released in the United States.

I had took a break in between the middle and ending. I was so out of touch with the anime that I couldn't even cry at the last episodes. I hate myself.

You can find the DVDs for the anime on amazon dot com or ebay

But I really didn't like the idea that just because we're technologically inferior to the Andromidans, that Kaito couldn't come with Ichka and her sister, I mean if they're both human or humanoid, they're in love with one another, I also didn't like the recovery pods/ sitting on kaito like that and taking her against her will, a bit highhanded to me.

The ending was interesting to me. In the final monologue of Kaito, he talks about how people who die want to somehow live on in some way, if only in our memories. I was half-expecting that the writers might have done more with this idea. The point is, her leaving the Earth forever is a metaphor for dying -- none of them will ever see her ever again. In the very last scene, they give the audience a shred of solace by showing her wearing the gift Kaito's sister bought for her -- but with no explanation about how she would have ever gotten it. The audience gets to make up any story they wish to about how that happened.
