When his cat dies, Furuya begins trying to raise it from the dead using an ancient book of the occult he bought from a shop. Rea Sanka Voiced by: Maaya Uchida First year student at Sanka High School, a private school for girls owned by her family. She hates her abusive and control-freak father and after being resurrected moves in to Chihiro house. Ranko Saōji Voiced by: Sayuri Yahagi Chihiro's cousin. She is a student of Sanka Girls' High School. She also likes zombie-related things. Although she's openly competing against Rea and knows of her zombification, they've become good friends. Other Information Premiere: Friday, April 6 @ 1:55 AM Studio: Studio DEEN Primary network: TBS/BS-TBS Genres: Comedy, Ecchi, Horror, Romance, Shounen, Supernatural Opening & Ending "Esoragoto (絵空事)" by nano.RIPE "Above your hand" by Annabel First Impressions? Zombie fetish? LOL, this series' first episode got me hooked. It so far has humor, good OP song imo, and a little fan service. This first episode really did make me a laugh though, more than Medaka Box. I also liked how the emotional side mixed with the lighthearted comedy. An impressive episode to say the least. Thought the first episode was "fair" (not bad, but not amazing either). I'll give it my traditional three episode run before I decided whether to dump it or continue ticking away the moments that make up a dull day.

Funimation acquired it:
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2012-04-06/funimation-adds-sakarea-zombie-comedy-anime The good news is the rights they acquired include home video, which means they intend to release it on DVD and/or BD. The bad news is that as usual for Funimation and Nico Nico, we can expect the simulcast start to be delayed. |
