Shinichiro and Yoko Kanno reunite after so many years? Gonna be one of the best this season, probably this year.

ZETMAN. EUREKA 7 AO. OTOME X AMNESIA!!! please get the license for those, even though that's probably asking for too much. i don't want my membership to be wasted on these current titles...

Kids on the Slope looks awesome. I love music-based anime. BECK is still one of my all-time favorites.
[edit]
ZOMG! Yoko Kanno is doing music for this? Like Ghost in the Shell, Cowboy Beebop, Wolf's Rain--- THAT Yoko Kanno?
I'm in love with this show already....

My reaction was even more extreme than that, since I started from, "{yawn} more pretty boys doing boyish things boyishly for the fangirls amusement, maybe I'll check it out if its streaming to my Roku" ... to "ZOMG! Yoko Kanno is doing music for this? ..."

There's a reason why the Giant Killing delay was on my radar the g*dd*** fairies series wasn't.

Anyway, seven weeks would make sense ~ announcing seven weeks in means that the contract was probably signed about six weeks in, and then Crunchyroll had to organize thesubtitling and etc.

By the seventh week, Crunchyroll's Man In Japan will have gotten into the early talks for rights for the following season, so a negotiation that drags on that long probably has to be given up as a Japanese "Maybe really means No".

Zetman was licensed by Viz. They typically grab one simulcast each season they dont' share with anyone*, but this time they have two (the other being Accel World).

* For anyone pointing out their simulcasts are also on Hulu, they don't share them with Hulu; that is where they post them. If you go to Viz's own site and play any of the videos, they play in an embedded Hulu player. When you see a Viz simulcast announced, it is actually a Hulu simulcast, provided by Viz.

I expected lack of interest might be the reason you missed that one.

The evidence that CR doesn't give up until 6 weeks in should be something that those that to want to blame CR for "not trying hard enough" should take note of.

ugh i hate hulu....i wanted to watch zetman in high quality...whatever, i guess that's better than not being able to see it. But i know everyone really wants crunchyroll to get Eureka 7 AO, i hope crunchyroll can get the license for that atleast....

The longest delay I remember was Giant Killing, which was signed 7 weeks into the season.

How about gdgd Fairies?

It premiered 10/12/2011 (U.S. time) and the first episode posted to CR on 11/30/2011, which is 49 days, or exactly 7 weeks. It appears one would need to look at the actual dates for Giant Killing to determine which one "wins".

Either way you slice it, however, precedent seems to favor that if CR hasn't gotten a series after 7 weeks, one might as well write it off.

Trivia. I'll bite. I feel like an anime gone video game split screen mode for a friendly head to head bout between agila61 v TheAncientOne. Just note this is not real time, just sourced dates, and there is a difference between announced and when they actual post an episode.

Using CR's episode listing, I'm seeing CR posted gdgd Fairies on 11/23 (pre-release is 1 week earlier than the 11/30 date noted), episode 7. Wikipedia says premiere of the series was October 12, 2011. 6 weeks to the day exactly using the 11/23 date, 11/30 would be 7 weeks. The CR news announcement was November 23rd too. The CR site news announcement (probably the more definitive measure) was also the 23rd. So 6 weeks from the broadcast date to both the announcement and first posted episode.

Giant Killing per Wikipedia had its series premiere April 4, 2010. Posted 05/23 (eps 1 and 8). 7 weeks to the day exactly. No news announcement per search, likely because CR news was added to the site after Giant Killing premiered. I found an ANN news announcement is dated May 21st though so I looked a little further. Found the CR site news announcement for the 21st as well ("Giant Killing in time for the World Cup"). 6 weeks 5 days from the broadcast date to the announcement, 7 weeks to the first posted episode, in this case two.

GK over gdgd.

with the amount of slots they have left, unless they add more, I think they will get Eureka Seven AO and one of the two Idol anime coming out since a lot of people liked that last one... If they announce Eureka Seven AO they will have got everything I wanted to get this season!

also I think the lupin anime is going to go to someone else, I think someone else had rights for streaming the original and will get the rights to this one.

I would have to point out that CR got Reborn! a lot more than 7 weeks after it began premiering.
