As a fujoshi I'd just like to say there is nothing appealing in this scene! As others pointed out already he's just getting picked on. No need to sound the yaoi alarms yet and don't let that keep you from giving this show a chance. It's definitely one of the better offerings this season so far.

It's really well done. I don't get a yaoi vibe off this show. I think people are being too... paranoid? Anyway, Sentarou obviously doesn't go for guys, much to chrome_mist's chagrin. ;)

Kauro in the manga is drawn with a more delicate feminine facial feature which which gives an impression of BLness and the target audience for the manga is Josei which makes you think it has some BL or love story stuff in it. But the anime is indeed emphasizing Jazz, Kyushu ,friendship and first love.I really like the manga, I wll have to go to the Japanese bookstore to get it. AS a musican artist myself , This is by far my most favorite new anime in a long time.

I just hope we find out as this show goes on that Ritsuko can play something or at least sing. I find it strange (and potentially annoying) that her dad owns a music shop, both her dad and Sentaro play, she enjoys music, she's in an anime where music plays a big role, but she doesn't play anything herself.
