yeah me too .
I wished they took a bit of time because this anime is moving really fast for a time span of 4 years starting from first year high school to college for Kaoru in just 12 episodes.

Also we are yet to see the Milestone trio jam session and possible My Favorite Things with Rit-chan singing

So I finally got started on this series after hearing the comments, reviews, and guides this Spring and so far, I'm really liking what I'm seeing.

Kaoru being nerdy, Sentarō being boss, and Ritsuko being a cutie. And that beautiful music, ye, I think I'll continuing watching this. This has potential to be one of my top 10's this year.

Happy to see you didn't let Erin's downer review on ANN stop you from viewing. It's a good series. Bamboo's logic describing her impressions from watching serves it and you, the viewer, well.

Oh, I read her review awhile ago but can't remember too much of it. This article earlier convinced me to watch today:

I might read Erin's review again though to recall what she wrote. She, Rebecca, and Carl are my favorite reviewers on the site

Well when CR first showed the summary long before the season started , I had a feeling this anime is my kind and it was and still is.

But back to the audio tract . I actually made a playlist of all the original musician's work and then followed by the anime version . I have a blast playing this in my car as I go anywhere. I crack myself up when I sing along with anime version of "But Not for Me" becuase its abit more of a swing tempo in the album compared to the Chet Baker style in the anime episode.
I feel like a cheezy lounge singer ha ha ha ha.

But One of my favorite tract is the anime version of the Miles Davis tune "Four" because it is so damm fast that the drummer ,Shun, is amazing. And the trumpeteer is reeeally good.

Matsunaga' jazz piano play is a given , He is a genius but I think some of the songs are played by Kanno san.

I cant wait to see the trio perform Milestone and Rikko sings My Favorite Things
.

Well, I caught up to the latest episode 9 recently and this story is fluid and quite interesting.

With well-rounded characters and a great setting mixed in with intriguing storyline, this series is quickly becoming one of my favorites this season of Spring. Perfect series of the coming age of drama.

Episode 10

Oh snap, the elopement news has spread. Also lol'd @ the bath scene, that awkward moment when you...

It seems that Kaoru still feels a bit of jealousy and concern of Ritsuko possibly still having feelings for Sentaro so he decides to...

Episode 10 In a Sentimental Mood

There are a lot of small scenes in this episode that amused me a lot.Like for example when Kauro had the youngest sitting on his lap before she oshikko ha ha ha. That was cute.

The music in the background when the two were snowball fighting is Duke Ellington tune Satin Doll

Since I read the manga up to Volume 8 , I am bracing for the next major drama to unfold but before that the last 2 jam sessions are coming ...

Not unless the mangaka continues the story past Volume 9 but the manga concluded at volume 9 ,so maybe who knows a different arc perhaps like a Sentaro OVA, who knows, Sentaro's childhood was a major drama by itself.

The story of Sakamichi no Apollon is based on the 9 volumes only. So it will ends at episode 12. I am not sure where they are going to end the story in episode 11 but I have a feeling they will end it the same as volume 8 .

I have not read volume 9 and not knowing what happens next is driving me nuts.

And There is a major climax in the story in volume 8 .

Here is the mangaka' Yuki Kodama website

Episode 11

Oh boy, looks like the stepdad is back and some tough love between the two best friends. Also, Ritsuko's singing is kinda catchy

Some pictures:

Something unexpected also happens in this episode.

I was yelling at the screen to tell it to stop playing with my emotions.

At the end of the day, though, this show is still hitting all of the right notes and is easily the standout this season.
