premarital relationships or premarital sex? How would he get a girlfriend and date if he doesnt believe in premarital relationships? lol Unless he's like Edo period old-school with arranged marriages

Inb4 romantic rivals.

For some reason, I have a feeling that Urabe is both a tsundere and a yandere (scissors as her choice of weapon).

Urabe doesnt seem like a tsundere to me. Shes too spacey... her garter-belt scissors does give a yandere vibe though.

that's how he his, he prefer arranged marriages over dating unless the two commit to each other for the rest of their lives. This is also why the characters are juniors in high school instead of middle school because he is really agaisnt kids dating that young. Agian i had to dig around for 2hrs on Japanese blogs via Google translator to nab this info

Wasn't there another girl that the MC liked before he met Ukabe?

I'm a bit lazy to re-watch the episode and take the screenshot for this but I wonder if she will make an appearance later on. If so, oh boy...Ukabe will definitely use those scissors.

The preview showed Ukabe using the scissors to make paper hearts or something all connected... not very yandere of her. :P

And yeah there was a girl MC liked, he tore up her picture to prove his love for Drool-chan.

Oh I remember this now from the preview. Ye, those scissors didn't seem yandere when she used it that way.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought I saw something else when her skirt flipped up when she suddenly stopped. I think the scissors make an appearance in episode one if for only a split second.

Just for S&G's I looked up the part in the first ep and found this to confirm my suspicions.

I kind of guessed that the writer had that opinion from reading the manga and I find it very sweet
Thanks for the info

tbh his tasting the drool thing was weird and im not saying id have a brain fart that bad. but ive done some strange and stupid things without thinking the moment it pops into my head.... so in all honesty its not necessarily unrealistic or disgusting he looked like he didn't even realize what he was doing until it happened.

as for the needing the drool thing... well there are known psych issues (normal everyday person issues) that could cause that, it works sorta along the same mental lines as a placebo does. so his brain fart screwed him over a bit there. it seemed perfectly sweet to me.... until they started in at the end with the talk about sex and such. (my personality is a-sexual so such things just seem out of place to me, gotta be careful what anime i recommend to other people cuz of some of the stuff i just don't notice...)

Although I haven't read the manga on this series to be I found myself enamored with both the drawing style and the dance dream sequence the male protagonist envisioned with Ukabe. It's not that unusual for someone to be smitten or fall in love by some preconceived notion rationalized in the brain; thus as a viewer I became a willing pawn to be drawn in by this manic couple dynamic. When Ukabe made her parting comments after Akira specifically tore the pic of a previous crush and confessed his love toward her by ep 1 end I was positive this show will have the potential to deliver some unpredictable surprises. Barring something really stupid in future episodes I have seen enough quality storyline sequences so far to realize I will pursue this series to the end.

As for the mention of sex in the conversation I felt she meant down the road sometime in the development of the relationship when it deepens, not tomorrow or anytime very soon.

As for the drool all I can add is if you ever do community work or nurse service with the mentally handicapped be prepared to see and wipe off from their faces a lot of saliva. Certain medications exacerbate this reaction. Over time enough exposure to excessive drool or spit will de-sensitive your revulsion. It will eventually seem and feel like lukewarm water.

Compared to Upotte!! a show like Chobits is moderate fare. Except for the stupid underwear parody in a dress shop I liked this series quite a bit. I just found it to be another study of AI interface with humanity.

Yeah can't wait for this anime! I read part of the manga and it was surprisingly good. If you are septic about I would give it a shot, I mean the worse that could happen is you don't like it and end up dropping it.

A lot of people are taking the "drool" part of this story very seriously, its just a little part of the plot line to maintain a connection between the two protagonists. I always saw it as just an alternative to a couple kissing (exchanging saliva, eh?)

I'd advise focus more of the development of the relationship between Tsubaki and Urabe and its microcosm for relationships between couples in general, less about the drool
