I really like it! It's such a cute anime!

Really enjoyed episode 2, I think they're translating the manga to anime very well
Loved the panty scissors, even more awesome now that they're animated

I like to think I understand most of the imagery in the manga and anime so far, but one has me perplexed
Would anyone like to put forward an idea to the use of lemons in the opening sequence?
I've got a few ideas but I wanted to hear what others thought too

Also Urabe's smile is the sweetest ever

Pavlovian conditioning: I would say Urabe has an innate knack for administering the procedure on a confused, albeit willing, victim. Ah, anime, thy guileless charms do enchant me so. Yum, shaping up to be a fantastic series. Absolutely delicious!

I would also like to say that Yoshitani Ayako's voice is as addictive as Urabe's drool. <3

Probably should have used some spoiler tags, since some non-premium members might just be watching episode 1...

When Urabe... "stimulates" herself, she can cause arousal in other people with her drool.
She can read other peoples memories by sampling their drool... which makes me wonder what would happen if they had sex. lol

Not "other people", only people with a special emotional connection with her. When she is explaining why his heart raced, etc... she told him:
"It's because you're my boyfriend."

kitsuneshoujo wrote:I just love how she nose-bled after she tasted his drool...
And MC assumed the worst when she said she would snap if he had opened his eyes. I of course thought otherwise since her stimulation was rather quiet. hehe

In the manga, I believe the translation was "I might have cut you up." It might be a case of the translation of the anime being a little less direct than what it really said in Japanese.

Yes, yes it is! I can't get enough!!! I frequently go back and watch a scene, or listen to the ED (OP this week too) just to hear her voice... I'm not sure if that is obsessive or not... LOL!

I'm not sure, but IIRC Love Hina had an episode about what a (first?) kiss was supposed to taste like, and lemon was one of the guesses. If for some reason lemon-tasting kisses is a common thing in Japan, it might have been used here for that association. Doesn't Urabe kiss the lemon in the opening?

She does doesn't she? Right before biting into it if I remember correctly. I think you've got a good hypothesis there
I've never heard of lemons being associated with a first kiss besides the instance in Love Hina but maybe someone else has and would like to enlighten us

This show is really quite, provocative or quixotic, maybe a little perverted... Gotta love it.

Lemon kisses?
I don't remember any literary reference or any other anime/manga reference besides Love Hina . . . (My favorite description from Love Hina is "Pneumatic softness")

Personally, Every girl's kiss tastes different but most are a little acidic like lemons or limes rather then vinegar... . . . unless she just ate something . . . *lol*

Used to be an old saying about if lemons are all you have why not make lemonade. I think the idea is lemons eaten or sampled by themselves taste sour but together as a group, a la lemonade, the taste can seem sweet, delicious.

I have watched both episodes about 4 times. For me this show's strangeness is extremely enchanting, almost hypnotic to a point it may outshine my expectations for Boys on the Slope plus 2-3 others airing this season. Has anyone objected to Urabe's tossing the candy in his mouth yet? Many of the posters are repelled to a minor degree with the saliva covered finger but isn't that candy also spit lined to some degree?

Enchanting is a good word for this. Right off the bat I was yelling at my screen "NOO" when he was about to lick her drool for the first time. But the outcome of it and development of this story is so bizzare Im completly enticed by it. Its amazing how far they can take an indirect kiss. I definatly feel the urge to watch more despite how "off" it may feel. "Enchanting"

Oh yes, that piece of candy is entirely coated in drool! I wonder if nobody commented on it because the shock value is gone, or if the people that can't handle the concept are just no longer watching at this point? (Their loss! They'll miss one of the finest romance stories of the year!)

Did anyone notice that he was so surprised that he swallowed it whole? (In the manga, it points it out in side-text, but also makes it clear in the drawing that he swallowed it.)

I'm really enjoying this, especially the Urabe's voice. What a welcome change!

As for lemons, they can symbolize a lot of things. It really depends on how they are used. In art, they often symbolize life and prosperity. The OP shows what looks like honey being poured onto lemons. Perhaps, that could be drool+life = lemonade, which is something bemused_Bohemian had pointed out.
