So as probably most of us know, in Japanese last names go first, and then the first name, an example is Uzumaki Naruto. Ok, so I've kinda gotten used to that order of names and sometimes when I watch something here on Crunchyroll, the names are in that order in the English subs, which I totally agree with, but some of the subs put the first name first and then the last name, and I prefer it if it's just like in the Japanese order, also because when the subtitles are like Naruto Uzumaki, but you hear that they say Uzumaki Naruto, It just kind of confuses me... Well that's just my opinion.. But I was wondering if there was anyone else with an opinion on that.

I don't think there is a post like this one, if there is please give me the link and feel free to lock this post.

Eh, doesn't bother me too much. I do get tired of listening to Japanese every now and then and have to watch something in English =/

I hate what crunchyroll does with the subtitles. You can tell they alter subtitles to make it look more convention to read. I think it's just confusing. Like how sub groups offer some explanations for jokes, cr doesn't do that

I'd also prefer if they kept the names as the original Japanese say it. It doesn't confuse me, but...
lol, imagine an anime subbed almost literally for its Japanese counterpart

Noticed the first few episodes I watched, but I don't really notice anymore. I have noticed they'll sometimes substitute the person's name when they're referred to by just an honorific, such as sempai. Not that it's a problem, just something I have noticed.

Either way is fine...but I kind of prefer it if they pick one convention and stick with it.

I don't know how many anime I've seen, where the subbers just switch from European name-style to Japanese order, and back again, from one episode to another.

Only weeaboos get mad over mistakes made about Japan. Even though they're not really mistakes, it's just translating it to how it would be English.

Most don't explain the joke because they alter the joke to make sense in English. Like say the joke was a pun in Japanese, they make a similar pun in English. Crunchyroll DOES go overboard with name calling sometimes though, which IS kind of annoying cause in Japan there really is no cussing. But really the name thing doesn't bother me.

Well, I don't really pay attention to what they were saying since it's in Japanese. I'm just focusing on the show and on the subs. But sometimes I just can't help but notice it too. I guess you're right. Japanese always starts their name with Surnames then their Given Name. Some subtitles do not follow it. Don't let it confuse you.

Haha.. Only weaboos huh? Well no one is mad at that, I was just stating my opinion on something, it's translating to English, but I think it'd be better if the order of the names they kept it the Japanese way.
And by the way I'm not criticizing CR's work with the subtitles at all, I really appreciate the fact that most shows here you can see how much effort was put into subbing it the best way possible.
