I honestly think this is a series that it would be better to end., although I suspect they'll go with the thing Fujita mentioned in the first series, about how its weird that the tournament seems to have rules set up to find people with special abilities and favors them over players with just skill.

So I suspect it'll be about some kind of bizarre mah jonng conspiracy

If Achiga-ehn does well in sales and ratings, they will make another season of the parent story(Saki), I think.
Though the creators of the Saki manga is slow, I've heard :P

We won't get to see Saki and the rest's progress in this tournament, might get to see them in the final.
That's my guess, since we've only seen glimpses of them so far and we're already at ep 6(half way).

Thats right. We see the path of Sakis Team in the original Saki Manga. The Mangaka actually doing both the Saki Manga and the Achiga-Hen Manga at the same time. Achiga-hen is in the halffinale and Saki in the quarter.

Years ago, a friend tried to teach me the rules for Japanese mahjong. They didn't stick. So, I've had to look them up to better understand what's going on.

So, since we finally have a new episode, looks in the preview for EP 9 that Onjouji is gonna at least somewhat keep Teru in check, which is probably good so they can get past the first round.

Also lol@the 'suspense' of not saying whether or not Kiyosumi got to the finals.

I find myself thinking a lot that this is actually the best show this season, weird and specialized as it is.
