Sarcasm gone wrong
Posted 4/12/12
this happens to me all the time, just wondering if I am the only one..

have you ever joked around with a friend or a partner and they just take it the wrong way, to where they start fighting out of nowhere? I mean I get it if being sarcastic hurt their feelings but I kinda think they are being a wuss.

I dont know, what do you think? -.-

Well I'm not the one to hurt anyones feelings but there are time here on cr where I said something and people took it the wrong way. Culture differences I guess

Meaning it worked better than expected.

I love being sarcastic. I get people upset sometimes when they don't see it for what it is but I just inform them that I was simply being sarcastic. If they still feel the need to fight over it then I just tell them they can either move on to a new topic or I will end all discussion with them for the time being. If they have honestly been hurt by it and aren't just fighting for no real reason then I will apologize and usually that is the end of it. If they don't accept the apology then again I give them the option to move on or end all discussion entirely. It seems to work out fairly well.

depends the person (black jokes to black people that you just met probability isn't the smartest move) and how bad the joke was as well as the timing ..... their are some jokes out their that just shouldn't come out like some dead baby jokes for examples. if hes your friend he will suck it up and get over it (be a man), if its a she buckle down and say sorry (girls like it when you say sorry).

Yes. I usually don't care about what they think... because sensitive people aren't usually my friends anywho... but when I DO care for some reason or another. I have to beg for forgiveness afterward.

Nope, maybe my jokes are just too funny to be taken the wrong way. ^_^

I guess there can only be a certain time and place for it, but mostly mood.
but hey, if you ever watch House that guy is fucking hilarious.
He's sarcastic as shit and its pure genius most of the time, but no one laughs cause his sarcasm is so spot on ^_^

I'm the sort of person incapable of avoiding sarcasm. Reading the situation correctly and the subtle use of double entendre and wisecracks will help you avoid trouble.
