Ever since Bleach, Gintama, Beelzebub, and all the other shows ended does it seem that there are less people on Crunchyroll. It looks like there are less comments on videos. On Medaka Box there are less comments than new shows get, even though they should keep Medaka Box on the now showing part thoughout the day instead of taking it down so people know that new videos are up. Is this a bad omen, Bleach and the other shounen shows brought people to this site. If there are less people that means less revenue, that means less anime in the future. What do you guys think?

Most of the new series are just getting underway, not much to discuss. Give it time.

I'm gonna agree with the post above, they are all probably waiting for the right time to strike.

shows come and go, but the industry always survives. besides, a big part of watching anime is acknowledging that all the shows end along with their storylines (unlike the episodic shows that networks air in the US that drag on and on until ratings drop and they get canceled). i wouldn't worry ^_^ if fansubs survived the days when you needed to order them on VHS from japan, CR will survive bleach ending.

I didn't notice a difference. Just because a show doesn't have a lot of comments doesn't mean there are less people. I do make comments on episodes, but sometimes an episode leaves me with too few words to say and I skip saying anything.

Even if there are less people, it's not like it matters. Those people who who are missing were probably only watching those shows anyway, so it's not like the industry is missing out on support. And if it is a bigger impact than anticipated, then some people need to start opening their minds to some new stuff.

I'm here. Shows have to end and sometimes it's best when they end when it's still good.

I agree with AZ. I don't think you can tell there are fewer people around solely because you think there are fewer comments.

Anyway, participation around here ebbs and flows. Some days are busy, some are not.

i bet some people like me are waiting for a couple of episodes to be out instead of just 1 or 2. for me personally it takes more than one episode on most series for me to get into it.

It's hard to tell on some series just by 1-2 episodes and some just hit you instantly. As some series start out slow, I've been in the habit of giving an extra 2-5 episodes for the hook.

It also depends on the pace of a series too. When you expect a certain pace from certain genre, usually you want to see that pace fairly soon into the series.
