What do you do when you meet or imagine a guy with erotophobia?
Posted 4/14/12
Inspired by my own traumatic incident, what would you do if a GUY was afraid of sexuality due to a traumatic event, abuse or anything else?

So afraid, they would think you are making fun of them if you ask them about their sexual tastes or make a joke along those lines, won't play some M-rated games like due to subconscious/PTSD reaction, and can't sit through an adult or adolescent-oriented comedy without getting scared or verbally aggressive?

(Note: I have been a victim of an unplanned image at age 11, but took nearly 10 years to not jump to aggressive conclusions and realize not everyone is taunting me, thus opened up in some regards. Don't make this a "I feel bad for you" thread, just an obscure subject that I feel needs more discussion is all)

What? As in, a guy that can't do sex jokes? Not even, a simple "that's what she said" or, "not as much as I did your mum last night"?
It must have been hard for you...

I think unsexual guys are more common than our society leads us to believe.
I'm celibate because I genuinely don't feel comfortable in those situations, though I'm not scared of it...
I think it's probably a lot more normal than you think

I guess you're asking what would we do if we were in that situation ? It'd depend on how tramatic the experience was, how much it interferes with my life. But ultimately I'd get some help.

Yeah, as a result, (aimed at gamers), I have never used Morrigan the succubus from Capcom games.

Come to think of it: I misjudged Peach Pit (creators of DearS) from day one, but when their other works came along I realized that that was only one side of their work and grew to open up to their work more.

Another case of this was causing a mental difference being (also aimed at gamers) many seem to love the Succubus scene in the PS1/PSP/XBLA Castlevania: Symphony of The Night, but as for me when I played it back in 2010, I thought, "this kind of creature is trying to attack a man not wanting sex every five minutes just like me," so I was happy to (in a way) protect myself from violation.

As I said before, I have thickened a bit, but not completely.

I'm glad someone understands that not all men feel safe around that stuff. Sure, it gives me a major limiting in some regards, but I still try to be as versatile as I can not just with jokes or small talk, but in my own story-telling.

I'd pray for his soul.

But in a more serious manner, I have a friend who was raped when he was younger by his father-in-law. I gave him advice and helped him out a much as possible over the years the best I could. He still thanks me to this day for that. Sometimes you just have to forget the past. That must have been a hell of a image to scar you for 10 years, and I thought I had it bad when I got shocked'n'awed with "tub girl" on a prank website.

It would be really hard to relate to them, I'm not gonna lie, but I'd really feel sorry for them.

Hang in there, man.
