Okay, so, I have a 1st generation iphone that I use to watch most of my anime. It worked perfectly fine till about a few days ago (march 16th), then suddenly almost all the videos i tried playing wouldnt load. More specifically, it would queue up normally into the video play, but when the "loading movie" message was finished, it would just quit out of the video player all together. It would not crash the app, just revert back to the "play episode" screen. Can anyone help me fix this, or why this is happening? I've tried on an iPod touch as well and had no luck. I also tried on the new iPhone and it worked mostly with just a few episodes not working. If it helps, I was watching the Occult Academy when it happened around episode 6 (maybe its bugged ). Please help, I want my Crunchyroll back!!!

Can you please try the following.

Connect your iPhone to your computer.
Open iTunes.
Click "applications." You'll see that the Crunchyroll app is still there.
Delete the app (right click, delete, move to recycle bin)
Sync the phone with the computer - this deletes the Crunchyroll files that may still be on your phone.
Once it syncs, disconnect, go in the app store, and redownload

Please let me know if this helps.

First of all thank you so much for the fast response! Then secondly, I tried what you wrote and it is still not working. However, all is not lost because I think that I may be doing it wrong . Correct me on my process if I'm wrong, here is what I did: First I deleted the CR app from my iPhone, I then went ahead and deleted the app from my iTunes account (right click deleted), then I sync'd my iPhone with my iTunes, then finally disconnected and re-downloaded the app. HOWEVER! Here is where I think there may be room for error. 1. My iPhone was originally sync'd to a different account 2. I re-downloaded the app on my iPhone and not on my desktop. If any one of these, or anything else for that matter, might have caused an error in readying the CR data please let me know. :D

I actually had this same issue however I have an iPhone 3G. I tried what you suggested but to no avail, and this only started happening recently. The last time I remember it working correctly was a week ago or so.

I'm not sure that being synced to an old iTunes account should matter.
Can you please tell me if it only happens on newer content, or if no content will play at all.
The next time it happens can you also try the following to see if it helps?

Double tap the Home button to bring up the Multitasking bar
Press and hold anywhere on the multitasking bar until the icons on it start to wiggle.
While they are wiggling, each icon has a Minus sign symbol above it.
Press the Minus symbol above the Crunchyroll app to close it down.
Then open up the Crunchyroll app again and re-play the video you were watching.

I am using a first generation iPhone, so it does not have the multi-tasking bar. As for which episodes it works for, I have found that it cannot load almost all the episodes I try playing, whether it has been recently updated or not. The only one I have successfully played was the newest episode of HunterxHunter. Again, like Renokun said, it happened about a week ago, and I've been a CR member for a while now, so I'm pretty sure we are not going to be the ones with this problem. Maybe an update to the CR server is making our iPods/iPhones act funky.

Got it.
I'll check with the development team and see if there has been anything changed recently.

Okay so I figured out a workaround for now.

The non-premium episodes seem to only work for me when I am not logged in, the premium episodes will work just fine as long as I am logged in. It works for me, it may not work for others though.

Our iPhone 3G is running 4.3.2 and I'm not having any issues streaming over WiFi.

I think that that is ultimately the problem :/. I just updated my iPhone but it can only go up to version 4.2.1. After I updated my iPhone I restored it and re-downloaded the CR app. When I tried to load the episodes again, it still would not load, except this time a window would pop up telling me, "The video cannot be found." Is there nothing I can do to get my iPhone to load the video? Did you update your servers a week ago or something? I think it would give me peace of mind just to know the reason my iPhone isn't downloading your videos properly.

Reading Renokun's comment above, I just want to say, having the same phone, that I tried logging out and played non-premium videos. They worked just fine, so, this leads me to believe that something funky is going on with my account. Is that a possibility? On my account I can't play any videos, non-premium or premium (with the exception of the new HunterxHunter video). Could it be something to do with my devices settings? I don't know how to work it or how to tell if something is wrong, like with all the activation/deactivation dates and all that).
