Now here is a hard one what would you do if you were walking home and you saw a guy robing a store?

That reminds me. I still have to write my paper on the Zimbardo experiment OTL
-walks away in depression and does not notice the robber-

The gun is the main issue for me really. Like everyone else, I'd call the cops but actually being within range of a weapon that could possibly end my life is what stops me from doing anything more. If it was a knife or a situation where the crime was much worse than a robbery...then I'd think about it.

some of the answers on here sound bad ass but really? assist the robber? really now? let's see you do that in real life.

try typing something real for a change.

but wait.

this is the internet.

moving on.

What I would want to do: Ask the robber why they're doing it or even hold him/her down.

What I would probably do: Walk past, hide myself a little further up the street and call the police, if said robberer leaves the store I'd snap a picture with my phone. Then I'd go into the store and make sure the people in there are alright.

If they're stealing food and there is no weapon involved I'd leave it be, morally it might not be the greatest thing to do but people steal food for a reason.

Hide and take pictures with my phone (assuming its on me) of the incident and if possible thr number plate of the robbers vehicle, if he is foolish enough to keep it on.

If I witness I robbery I probably would just ignore it. Because it's not usually a life or death situation, and also they could be robbing someone because they are poor an need money. You never know.

If there's something that I can do and If I can profit something out of this without being killed then I would assist the victim. If not, then I would ignore the whole incident.

MY ALIGNMENT IS CHAOTIC NEUTRAL, BITCH!

Then i'd let the robber take all the cash he wants, shit Idgaf about that! Probably no more than 100 or 200$
Personally i'd take all the cigarettes I'm not a smoker, but I know tons of people who will knock someones block off for a cigg right now. Man I'd make a insane profit, probably 10x what the robber got lol.

I'm not about to risk my ass to save some random store clerk who probably wouldn't even be lax about giving clearance for 2 cents on my favorite bag of munchies cause I forgot about the shitty tax. Save the acts of unneeded heroism for the men in blue who get paid to do that, and save the selflessness for your family, not a stranger on the street.

No regrets.

If I had a dollar for every-time I've witnessed a random civilian walk into the local convenience store while its being held down by some armed, starving, and potentially homicidal person and watch that person ask the criminal nonchalantly something along these lines "Aye bruh you need some help?" I'd have a double quarterpounder with cheese and a super-sized drink with extra large fries from mac donalds right now.

Infact, when I was 15 this happened WHILE i was IN the store.

I wish the passage here was separated some and summarized. It'd be a little easier for me to read.

If the robber in the store is armed (most of the time many are these days), I'd keep my distance and call the police. I'll try to use my phone to capture a picture also if I have a clear view of the robber's face. If they're not, I'll yell at them and throw something I can get my hands on.

I'll be frightened taking matters into my own hands and attacking the robber when I think more about it, because I'd worry if the robber has more than one weapon like a knife or an assistant with them.

This is very unrealistic for me, since I never leave the house.
Posted 4/18/12
If I'm feeling like a hero that day I might step in and try to stop the robbery. Otherwise I'd probably just call the police and then walk away.
