Hi all,

I'm not sure if you people have heard of Funcom's(creaters of Anarchy online and Age of Conan) comming MMORPG, The Secret World. It will be a game based on all the world's myths and legends being true and 3 secret societies fighting against these mysterious creatures and beings. The societies are The Illuminati(America), The Templars (Europe) and The Dragons(Asia).

They have started a "warm-up" game, a webbrowser based mini-game to get more people interested in the game, unlock items for when the game comes, unlock achievements, guarenteed beta-access and maybe winning a free trip to visit their studio in France.

Nice to hear. Been some time since I heard about it myself, but now that it's getting close to release and even chruncyroll haveing adds for it. I figured I would raise awareness off the matter! ^^,

Yeah, I heard about it and joined the site back when they were first coming out with the videos...just last year I guess. But I'm no gaming hipster, I actually forgot about it...and now they've cancelled adding it to Xbox 360. This sucks as I have a Mac, and I'm not a PC gamer, I've never gotten use to playing on a computer. But oh well...if only I had money for a gaming PC.

But I'm a Dragon all the way. They seemed like the only good group.. the other two looked stuck up and arrogant.

I beta-tested right before realease. There was less than a week before release and the questlines were still broken and they'd been broken for several betas. You couldn't drop the quest and you couldn't move forward on the quest so you were just stuck with that broken quest. You couldn't pick up new quests of the same type either. Basically if you picked up the quest, you were stuck grinding or PVPing for the remainder of the beta. I decided until I know the game is fixed I won't be buying it. It was a good idea, the graphics aren't bad and the atmosphere is pretty amazing. Its a bit creepy in places, but I really like that. I don't mind a few glitches and I have been a beta tester enough to know that there will be some minor issues in release. However, after talking to several mods and even one of the development team members, they still had no idea what was breaking the questline and they should have pushed the game back. Instead, they went ahead and released it, knowing that it was still majorly broken. There were complaints that other questlines were broken as well, so it wasn't like it was a one time thing. Also, PVP was so one-sided in beta. The Templars had so few players that wanted to PVP that they could never win. I also suggested they make immediate changes to that to prevent the unfairness of the PVP. Whether they took the considerations to heart or not, I don't know. Let me know if the game seems less broken and I may decide to come back to it. I really enjoyed it aside from the bugs and it would have been a nice one on my list.

Played this game and didn't like it much. It has a lot of cool concepts and ideas but combat just never felt right. It would have felt a bit better if combat was more FPS style with magic being key presses. I think it would have felt more natural and fluid for me. I loved the graphics when it came to the environments but the cut scenes were horribly done. It was like the graphics just dropped a few years because I could clearly see the mesh modeling under the "skin" not to mention the facial animations just weren't at the level they should have been. Customization was another problem I had with the game. There are plenty of completely free to play games that have way more customization options than it had. At this moment I can only think of one more issue I had with the game and that being the fact it had an item mall despite having a monthly subscription. IMO if you charge me $15 a month on top of $50 to buy the game I shouldn't have to spend even more money in the game just to make my character look better. There were other things but I am just too tired to remember what they were.

Does anyone enjoy this game so far? I've tried it, but I haven't had a real chance to get into it yet.

TSW is a decent game until the higher levels, then it gets very repetitive, and monotonous. And unfortunately it's already going F2P. And after only being out for a few months that's not good. Server population is really low, and it just seems like it's missing something. I had hoped it would be unique and long lasting, but probably not.
