Those are some amazingly powerful eyes. It was hard to miss Chitanda's eyes going dark in Stark700's post above when Oreki mentioned adult affairs.

Chitanda....meet table.
Table.....meet Chitanda. No, no, not that way you goofball purple eyed anime girl! OK I'm not sure exactly as to whether Oreki's sister is Juumonji or not now. When they showed her looking at that news article on the wall I was thinking "OK she knows they're on to her now" and then changed her target to stay one step ahead. But from the look of that scene I couldn't tell if she had been there at the festival the whole weekend, or had just gotten there a few minutes before, and thus wouldn't have been able to do all that "borrowing" of items from all the clubs. Maybe she is the brains behind it, but is having one or more students at the school do the actual pilfering of the objects and the leaving of the cards at the scene. Maybe the manga club president or one of the others she worked with on that manga Mayaka was looking for are in on this whole deal too? I wonder. |

Episode 16. The culprit is probably either the Student Council President or that Anjou person. Am I the only one who thinks this? I mean... Anyway, Hotarou was yet again, flawless in this episode. |

Will you still love me when I'm no longer young and beautiful?

I have been meaning to watch this show, but every time I get the first episode it doesn't work. Not sure why. I'll have to find a different group's version I guess.

No Sailor Moon this summer? Boo.

Everything is coming together at last. I guess the next episode will wrap things up. Hopefully Satoshi will get over his jealousy, and something will be done about the bullying of Ibara.
As for the "ku" bit... Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide If Juumonji is avoiding "trouble" then I wonder if "ku" was skipped since it means pain or suffering in Japanese. |

Episode 17 Oreki proves how smart and crafty he is this episode as he finally solves the mystery behind the Jumonji incident. It looks like this arc is over but Hyouka is not done yet. Can't wait to see what happen next time. |

We got not one but two Chitanda-chimes... and one from Mayaka. I do feel kinda cheated that there hasnt been any entanglment scenes like that the start of the series.
Love how he solved the mystery and sold a stack of the anthologies at the same time. xD |

I loved the conclusion on this one, I loved how Houtarou took advantage of the situation to sell all those anthologies, that was just plain genius.
Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide though I kind of wished that Mayaka would have shown those other girls in the manga club, and not just Ayako I hope the characters that appeared during this arc will make a few more appearances as well in the next one. |

I was very pleased with this arc. It felt like, for once, we have some characters with depth other than Oreki. And I also liked his devious approach: kill two birds with one stone.
If the next arc is as well done as this one, then it is probably the last one: we only have 4 episodes left. Bring out the swirly hair and purple eyes! Oreki doesn't stand a chance. |

Oreki is just a genius when it comes to solving mysteries. That was also excellent thinking in taking advantage of the situation. And the sodium-water trick was done very well- was wondering where that water had come from. Anyway, great episode to a great season. Can't wait for the final four episodes that will probably be the last arc of the season.

I loved how Oreki solved this one. He's acting a lot more like a true detective now. And though I feel a bit bad for Satoshi, I'm glad he didn't just decide to nag at Oreki like I thought he was going too. Satoshi's character has grown on me now that he's been given some depth. Mayaka is still a bit irritating, though.
This has probably been my favorite arc and I'm looking forward to the (probably) last arc of Hyouka! (Who else got a feeling that Oreki's sister is gonna play a big role?) |

Anyway, Hotarou was yet again, flawless in this episode. Well your answer was a bit closer than mine. I thought that Anjou person might be involved too at least, but I was leaning more towards the manga club president. Even so, I bow to the superior detective skills of the Lady Mist. *bows* Also, I gotta admit I do feel kind of bad for Satoshi. I'm sure he was more disappointed deep down than he showed. But just for a second it looked like he and Mayaka were growing closer. I want them to have more development in their relationship in these last few eps. How 'bout you guys? |
