My ringtone on my phone is Moonlight Densetsu. ^_^ It's my bat call to any otaku hiding in the area. >.< As for whether there are more male anime fans hiding out there or female, I think the men have us beat probably 2:1 /easily/... If not 3 or 4:1... When I took Japanese in college there was maybe 3 girls out of ~20 person class. When I was in high school there was like 1 girl other than me who liked anime and close to probably 10 guys. Same goes for CR, I definitely think there are more men on here than women. I would have enjoyed Highschool more if I could of studied Japanese...stupid French. And one year sooner and I could have studied Latin.... |

female otaku right here!
But yeah, in my community there are some people who like anime, but most of them are shy guys who don't get out much. In fact, I only have like one friend who likes anime as much as I do, but she lives in Norway so... kind of different. But yeah, it really depends. I'd say there are a lot of female anime nerds out there ;D |

my first encounter with female "otaku" was my freshman year of high school. Almost all of them were overweight and none of them were attractive. But what was 2006 and things might have changed since then.

Definitely depends on where you are from and if people are open about being Otaku. I'm one of the few open otaku's at my school :3 In cosplay and all but it depends where you are, cause I knew a ton of Otaku when I lived in Los Angeles.

Haiiiiiiiiiiii I'm an Otaku. I don't have many friends that are really, but I'm always super excited to run into them. I remember after the anime convention I wore my Crunchyroll shirt to Target and this guy started talking to me that he went to AX and I was like
Haha. I love meeting others that are, but I think I have more Otaku guy friends vs. girls. |
