I'm new to the VN gaming! I hate to read books but love Anime and Video Games! I just completed my first VN Little Busters! (all Ages edition) last week! In January I ran into it used at a comic shop in Maine by chance! The cover grabbed my attention. I enjoyed it so much and was long!! I have not felt emotions in a game like this since Final Fantasy X so I'm looking forward to whats to come and suggestions i find in this forum! I found out at Anime Boston 2012 at the FAKKU Visual Novel and eroge panel that Fate Stay Night was a VN before the Anime series appeared and was highly suggested so I have ordered that game and looking to get Clannad once i save a bit!! Can't wait to get my hands on School Days HQ!!

My current favorite would be the freeware game Heartache 101 ~Sour into Sweet. It's available in English for Windows computers. Why do I enjoy it? Lots of gameplay and options. The game includes lots of statistics, three difficulty levels, optional modding/customization, and a mini-game. It starts fairly simple, but the more you're willing to play the game and explore its world, the more options are available.

Here in Chicagoland, there are a few decent comic book stores. But I don't think I've seen one that carries import games of any kind. (One store used to carry import CDs, and I still see a few limited edition figures... but everything else that local stores carry are either written in English or localized.)

The only one i ever played was Katawa shoujo. I enjoyed it though
I'll probably NEVER play clannad as i absolutely hated the anime with a passion.
I want to play school days just for the lulz factor of getting one of the what? 10+ bad endings.
I really want to check out some otome games, though i don't really know any.
Even then, money is kinda tight right now and my computer is so crappy that it would probably explode if i tried to run one anyway.

Aselia the Eternal
Utawareumono

I've only played these two so far and enjoyed Utawareumono more out of them.

I have Fate/Stay Night and Tsukihime to play next.

Just a few weeks from now, Virtue's Last Reward will be translated for both 3DS and Vita. I realize it's not strictly a visual novel (I believe it's a hybrid-genre game with puzzle elements), but it's also distinctly different. Barely a scrap of slice of life or romance... instead it's a story with plenty of horror and suspense. This, along with Persona 4 Golden, might be enough for me to justify purchasing a Vita.

1,2, and 3 are the best. But never got to finished any of it. I got thru like 20% for wish upon the stars. for Deardrops, i only go thru 8%. I've played Hyper->highspeed->genius too, but it's in japanese so i couldn't really understand most of it.

Katawa Shoujo.

When I first started playing I was worried as to how the'd handle the whole "disability" thing, but it was done very well. The characters were pretty realistic, and the stories were touching and somewhat inspiring. The best part is the game is absolutely free on their website.

Oh and I love the art style.
