It's like Crunchy putting up shows they don't have the rights to (this is obviously just an example) and using paying subscribers' money to keep doing so.

Ah, but you forget that Crunchyroll started out doing just that. It used to have a lot more (unlicensed) shows that users uploaded the episodes to until they started gettting copyright complaints and had to start taking things down.

Yeah I read about it recently, honestly I was kinda surprised, and it was also one of Funi's initial targets since they were letting users upload stuff like that. I'm just glad that Crunchyroll is totally legal now ^^

Yikes. I have to agree with other previous posters. It's just not attractive enough to warrant paying for at this point.

yeap I had my friend check the site and she actually did translations for JManga and even she is confused with their site.

The only part she said was that is cool is having the actual written Japanese and the english counterpart like having subtitles but other than that ...

Of course, Crunchyroll ended up with a policy of removing series that have been legally licensed. The comparison would be valid if it weren't for the fact that MangaFox still has volume 1 of Naruto online.

And if there is any debate on the topic. MangaFox includes a "Watch Naruto Online?" link and points that to another unlicensed streaming site which likewise funnels ad money directly to the site owners cutting out the original producers.

If MangaFox's had any legitimate intent to get the industry to modernize they would be pointing people to Crunchyroll for Naruto streaming links. The fact that they link to piracy instead of linking to legal options where they are already available seals the fact that they have no legitimate intents.
