Proms may be totally over-rated. But they're still a HUGE part of the American culture.
How do you feel about that?
What do you think about the growing trend of promposals.... http://blog.al.com/breaking/2012/04/prom-posals_are_the_latest_tre.html
Will you participate in it?
And, share some prom memories :)

I didn't go to my prom...but I did go to several fully formal dinner and dance graduation parties that summer, so I suppose I can count them as my proms except there were no people from my school and just my friends

My favorite memory of that summer (2006) is that I had started collecting formal ball gowns less than two years before. So it was always exciting having a reason to wear them. My favorite was this long black gown, with this huge tulle skirt.

Also...I remember during the cleanup of one I got on the stage and sung "Roxy" from Chicago in front of a LOT of people. I love making people laugh, and I had fun performing it.

I'm sad since I moved to a smaler city people don't give a lot of formal events so I don't get to dress up much.

I didn't have a formal one myself Parents purchased a house that year so everything went into it. BUT I had several small things during the summer, but not formal. :tears:

My Mother wants me to hurry and graduate from College so they can throw "A Royal Ball" Not even exagerrating. They want us to have costumes made, and the rest rented. Must be in full formal court gowns, and it's supposed to be similar to a dinner dinner with the guests not knowing when one of the "cast" starts performing. There's a scene written where my brother is trying to kill me out of revenge for me making him the Royal Cook, and he's escorted off to his death.

As tempting as that may be...I do NOT want it for a graduation party anymore. As tempting as it is to dress as the Queen for a day, I think I won't be done with school for a while so I'll be kinda old then.

Awww, I was about to say....you'd be a great Queen. Should snap your Royal Chef's head with his favorite knife.

I didn't go to my prom, but I will be attending "anti-prom" coming in the next few months. Who knows maybe it will be fun.

I remember seeing a sign for prom.
I remember seeing the ticket prices.
I remember saying to myself, "I'm not paying 40USD/80USD for a couple, to go to a stupid dance. Scam some other idiot please, nothing you can ever do will please me."
And then I remember going on with my life.
