I think proms are one last excuse for the popular/rich kids to flaunt everything they have (dress, boy/girlfriends, popularity, etc.) and for the have-nots to reflect on how much they suck. Besides, the music they play blows, and nobody really knows how to honest to god "dance" anymore. It's all just grinding and humping.

I regret the money I spent on prom and I regret going to it even more. The food wasn't too bad, but the music was AWFUL. The only good side was that the prom venue wasn't far from my house, and it was a nice place (a yacht club). I didn't dance, I didn't talk to anybody, I just smoked out on the deck and stayed by myself, looking every bit like the loner I was. When people asked why I didn't dance, I blamed the music selection. All the guys had a girlfriend, people came in fancy limousines, I came alone and in my Saturn.

I complained about it later, and everybody just told me I was doing it wrong, that I have to have a girlfriend and/or people to go with. Well pardon me for being a freelancer and wanting to do things my way, and also being fresh off a breakup with my girlfriend of 3 years!

Prom was kinda fun but it got hot and stuffy when people went up to dance. I didn't dance because I was wearing heels and it didn't really make sense to dance to music that I don't like. My date and I enjoyed the evening taking pictures and chatting with the friends we came with.

Typical prom experience for most seniors I suppose.

Surprised my date and asked her to go to prom with me, which she accepted.

Bought tickets, rented a tux, ordered a corsage, took care of plans for that night.

Picked up date, took pictures at her house, met up at another house, took more pictures there.

Drove to the event, paid for professional pictures, milled around and socialized. Had dinner, got our dance on.

Went to an afterparty. Took my date to a 24/7 burger joint because we were both starving. Went to a hotel. Got nekkid.

I went to none of my school dances. I wasn't planning on going to prom, then I saw you had to pay $55 for a ticket and that sealed the already sealed deal. I played Halo PC all night with my friends. Do I regret it? Nope!

Never been to a prom. Yet. It sounds lame, honestly. Social gatherings like that have never been in my interests. I don't know why. I'll give it a shot though. The closest thing to a prom-like memory, was this little dance I had as a freshman, (where I live, we were still in Jr. High in 9th grade.) And we didn't really do anything but dance to up-beat music.

Well once I was hoping someone would ask me to prom.
And no one did.
And I stayed home and cried.

not saying it was the best, but it was the last time I saw everyone and I think it worth it...

Never cared for "prom" didn't like the fact having to pay a butt load of money just to go to the school gym for a few hours and socialising with people i didn't know and didn't care to know.. so instead went to a keg party wit my friends.

Prom was odd for me cause I went with my ex-girlfriend, and then spent it trying to go and actually have a good time with my newer interest, but not diss my ex (cause we were still friends). It ended up working out, but it was still strange.
