I went to both of my prom (Junior/Senior). They were both a good time - although I consider myself "a dancer" - meaning, I have the ability to discard all shame when music is playing. Fortunately, my friends and classmates were all the same, so it was that kind of nights.

I didn't go to my prom. In fact, I didn't go to any of my school's functions. I regret nothing.

Prom to me is really.. overblown. I've been to 4 total, and the only one I was glad I even went to was my Junior prom because it was held in a really nice building and my date was just a good friend of mine. We went as a big group of close friends, split the costs of food and the limo and it was just overall drama-free and pretty fun.

Every other prom I went to was with a boyfriend or as a serious date, and those always ended up with more drama than I'd care to deal with >.<

The whole.. Promposal thing is.. odd. But I guess I'm strange. I just don't see a point in treating a high school dance like some sort of wedding thing. Most times you wont even know the people you go with a few years down the line. Not in all cases obviously. I graduated in 2005, and still have my same group of girl friends as I did for 3 years of high school.

Didn't go. My g/f in highschool of 2 years and I decided that instead of spending all of our savings (neither of our parents woulda funded it) on outfits n stuff, we would have a late night date/picnic/cookout at the beach.
So much better than a prom IMO.

Prom. Prom. Prom.
Its not really a big deal. Its just a dinner with friends plus some dancing (or flirting for some).
But i guess it fine.
My last dance was a surprise really. Didnt know he'll dance with me. MEH.

I went to both my junior and senior prom, with the reasoning that I need to go since IT'S PROM!!
UGH. how much money did i spend on each.. The location for both proms was really small, the food was lackluster.... my date for senior prom---I don't even want to remember...

All I know was that I wasted money and watched other people have fun there. lol...

Seeing as you have control over who you ask to prom, I don't get how you could end up going with a date you didn't like.

I guess I could put it in this way as well: I thought I was going with a person that I would've enjoyed prom with.. but that wasn't the case once we actually went to prom. Did that make sense? :|

Haha, Junior Prom, we split early and went to a decades older gay man's house who proceeded to make layered, multi-colored shots of who the hell knows what and boilermakers. I didn't drink whereas my friend drank every grown man under the table.

She went to the bathroom and didn't come out for a while. I knocked and heard this light giggling sound, so I opened the door and her ass was stuck on the floor between the wall and the toilet in her white and pink flowered fluffy dress and uttered the unforgettable "Help... I've fallen and I can't get up."

My single piece of advice to anyone who still has proms to attend : If you get photos done, be sure to get some taken /without/ your date. Nothing pissed me off more later than having no pictures of just me without my ex boyfriend.
