Sooo who out there has been watching say Queens Blade Rebellion or Sanka Rea? If you have seen either of these for instance in Sanka Rea (mainly the last two episodes) she is like half naked the entire time and of course they find clever ways to cover up her nips with her hair or shirt or towel. But I actually found myself saying, "Man I can't wait to see this uncensored." and I was like wait......are seeing the nipples that important? Like does my brain not comprehend it as a breast now if I don't see the nipples? Cuz maybe back when I was like 12 if I had seen something like this anime I would have giggled and been like "Oooooooooo boobies," but now it just doesn't do anything for me. Do any of you other ecchi anime fanciers have the same thought? Like its not a whole boob unless I SEE THE WHOLE BREAST (that means the nips too)? Or maybe I am just weirder now,

Well i do agree with the "its not a whole boob unless I SEE THE WHOLE BREAST" including the nips comment, especially when it happens in real life. I walked in on my friend once while she was putting on her bra but she managed to cover her nip, and i remember thinking "Damn, so close".
But when it comes to anime, especially ecchi, i usually laugh at the nudity and fan service. But i won't lie, when they cover the nips, deep inside the little pervy me is still there standing alone feeling dissapointed.

Exactly, I wish they would separate anime into a few different "viewer categories" like anime for kids, anime for teens and anime for adults. Cuz if I watch something with fan service in it, like I'm not watching QB Rebellion for the plot (maybe a little....I mean real little). But ya want to see the fan service obviously.

Actually, I'm fairly certain they do rate anime just like they rate manga.

Yeah true but the ecchi anime series are rated for a mature audience yet they still censor it. I know its TV and its public but they have shows in Japan about women taking baths at hot springs and that stuff they don't murder with censors.

Call it the last line of humanity defence. in 20 years from now when your children watch "captain fudgepack" or "Listen to me girls im your perverted father" for saturday cartoons, remember you wanted to see nipples.
It is funny though how its like the "nipple" is the actual private part but a double D can show everything but. I really dont think you should get your brain working on this topic, are you watching for sexual stimulis? or for story, art and adventure. While they show a little of all those, you gotta pick what your after. Hentai is porn, ecchi is anime and there they have drawn the line!

it's called dvd/bluray sales... why is this so hard to understand. Also atx is payed subscription channel like HBO here but in japan that's why they can air uncut broadcast with nipples and really over the top sexual tones.

Unless the nipples are actually being obscured by fog, shafts of light/shadow, etc., the odds of seeing an "uncensored" version are practically nil, as there was no censoring of the original material. The only way those scenes could be "uncensored" would be to re-animate those scenes. It is more likely any such fan service would be saved for an OVA.
There is a clear difference between censoring (which is too often painfully obvious), and material that was obviously intended never to show the "naughty bits". The outdoor hot springs episode of Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu is an excellent example of the latter.

Oh yeah I have seen Zessica I mean c'mon just show those things off cuz they are pratically hanging out to begin with.
Yeah I know the whole to boost DVD/Bluray sales. It still pisses me off though, its not that I dont understand it. Its just like I remember seeing an episode of Ghost in the Shell on CN (when CN actually showed anime) where she engaged her therm-optic camoflauge and jumped out a window or something and she was naked and ya caught a glimpse of her nips but they made no effort to censor it. I thought it was a good point brought up by Demographic, " how the nipple is the only part that is considered the naughty bit." That right there, I'm wondering in anime or I should say if in society will that every change?

It's very important to remember the Japanese are cheating from our monthly subscribing fees. If we could have both the censored/uncensored versions, I wouldn't really be complaining.

the problem lies with atx which is cable tv station in japan as previously stated like HBO, show time etc. Our personal fee's would have to go up alot get those raws to translate which is why stream licensees go for cheaper over the air work like from TV Tokyo Now T.v. Tokyo is over the air with antenna/digital they have to censor their works
