What's a Better Name for "Bodacious Space Pirates"
|
I guess I'm the only who actually REALLY likes the title as is, "Bodacious Space Pirates"
(P.S. I didn't vote, I'm almost disappointed there's no option to retain the title...) |

I really don't see anything wrong with the English name at all but if you were to change it I think it should be to the original name

It says "Bodacious" beneath the title even on the official Japanese website. That name's good enough for me. This is a futile attempt to break through the sophistication ceiling. Embrace the cheesiness.

"Bodacious Space Pirates" is just fine. It's certainly memorable, and maybe we can reclaim this perfectly useful word from stoner-dom.
After all, this is a show about high school girls… who become pirates… in SPACE. There is no way this show needs a "serious" sounding title. |

I know you are joking about "MINI SKIRT PIRATE ADVENTURE PALOOZA, WITH LAZORS" but I bet that all my friends would watch the show because of a title like that.

Embrace the cheesiness. Yep, which means it wasn't pulled out of anyone's ass on the North American side of the industry. I do like Miniskirt Pirates, though, and I think that is the title that was used for the light novels. Edit: And looking at the Wiki page, it is. Hm, I thought Barbalusa(?) seemed like an odd name. Seems like it should be "Barbarossa." |

People forget that being a Princess means having a responsibility to serving...

Leave it Bodacious.
It's a show about a pirate in a school uniform. People without a sense of humor aren't going to enjoy it no matter what the name is. |

Bodacious is quite fine, but if it must be changed I'd go with Valorous Space Pirates.

Well I say we call it what it says in English on the logo, that seems about right, keep it as Boudacious. Seriously changing it to Moretsu is dumb, we don't speak Japanese we speak English.
Unless you plan on changing the logo too. If people are missing a show because of a name, it is there lost. |

"Bodacious Space Pirates" is fine enough. Why? It's in the opening. If the Japanese would like an easier name, they could've done just "Space Pirates" or let the original JP name "Mouretsu Pirates" in it, easy as that.
As of this, I'm not even gonna vote. |

I prefer the Japanese title, though. I liked it much better.

The title of the show is fine as is. Even the OP supports that.

I've always refered to the show as "Moretsu Pirates" same for all my friends who are watching it. No one I know calls it Bodacious Pirates. Only time I see the name Bodacious Pirates is when I go to watch it here each week.
