Often those with the most to say understand the least.

Brah, if I may truly troll you here, you don't know what you are talking about.

How do you link "body" to "bodacious?"

Before deciding 11 pages of commentary assignine you should first research the topic for which you wish to address before. . .

Hell, one of my mentors says it best:

Everyone already thinks you know nothing. Instead of proving them right keep your mouth shut. After keeping your mouth shut long enough you'll know when to speak.

Well, I thought you originally called it Moretsu Pirates and I didn't have a problem with that. Of the others you listed, I kind of prefer Adventurous Space Pirates to Space Pirates. FWIW, the Wikipedia entry says a literal translation is Fierce Space Pirates, while the Anime News Network lists Extreme (Space) Pirates as an alternate title. Either of those might be suitable choices as well. It's hard to pick a clear favorite, though sticking with the original Japanese title would be fine with me.

Edit: regarding "bodacious", Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bodacious) has a few meanings/entries for this word including "a portmanteau of bold and audacious" and "Voluptuous, attractive", the second being where one could make a connection to "body".

I wish people wouldn't use a Wiki as a source for facts. You're setting youself up for failure.

I would not be watching this series if it had kept it's original name. I don't know what Moretsu means, and I don't really care that much.

Bodacious, now, that's a word that catches my interest. It's silly, it's fun, and that gave me a good impression before I started the show.

Bodacious Space Pirates has implications of fan-service that the series doesn't deliver. Lately with the school girls doing the pirating, it kind of degenerated into Moe Space Pirates. Frankly I'd prefer either the original Japanese title Moretsu Space Pirates, or have an accurate English translation: Audacious Space Pirates.

I voted for the original anime title "Moretsu Pirates", which is better than the title of the light novels, "Mini-skirt Space Pirates."
I think "Bodacious Space Pirates" is fine. Bodacious is a bit of a double entendre. Bodacious Space Pirates can be space pirates that are "sexually attractive, sexy and volumptuous," and space pirates that are "bold and audacius, remarkable, courageous or spirited,"

Considering the phrase Moretsu is in the OP and was the name most of us saw at first anyways it would make more sense to keep it termed as such.

I was perfectly aware of the name change and have just been too busy to watch it. As one's power level approaches nine thousand, that a show may stream under an alternate title really isn't a barrier to recognizing it for what it is.

Compared to "Bodacious," the original planned English name of "Miniskirt Pirates" actually isn't that bad.

Uh, yeah, I am one of the people who haven't watched it due to the name. While some people can argue that it can mean one of two things, there are times when in Japanese Anime, you end up getting something a little more... ecchi.

Wow, I even posted a picture of the Japanese BD/LN sitting here on my desk how many pages ago and people still can't seem to accept the fact that "Bodacious Space Pirates" IS the Japanese sub-title for the anime, which they use quite frequently with the logo title Mouretsu Uchyuu Kaizoku, making the formal title of the anime version Mouretsu Uchyuu Kaizoku: Bodacious Space Pirates, with a furigana reading of Mouretsu Pairaatsu. In Japan its shortened to Mo_Pai (if you want to argue that with me, please take it up with Satellite as that is what they use for the official CaptainMarika twitter feed as the hash tag).

The novels were called Minisuka Uchyuu Kaizoku with the furigana reading of Minisuka Pairaatsu. The anime does not use the novel title in Japanese either...

You can argue with me if you like, except for the fact that I have said items in front of me.
