One of the things I've noticed over the past 8 years that I became 'aware' of anime, I realized that I had actually been watching it for MUCH longer than that later, is that people almost always prefer the original name, even if it is all in Japanese. English naming is 'boring' to us because we speak it as a first language, for most of us, and it is something that we don't have to think about. Japanese on the other hand requires more brain function and we attain a higher appreciation of the meaning of the words because they aren't second nature to us. Sticking with the original name, but giving the definition along with it is always my preference because it aids in a little bit of the learning of the language and gives some insight and recognition when the name appears in the show.

bo·da·cious/bōˈdāSHəs/
Adjective:
Excellent, admirable, or attractive.
Audacious in a way considered admirable
bodacious is just fine. the definition of bodacious surely suits the show because the are all bodacious.they are admirably audacious, bold. the etymology of the word begins with a portmanteau of "bold" and "audacious".

It should have been the name of their pirate ship.

I am kind of okay with bodacious space pirates, but c'mon its not the 70's or 80's any more where you have to change the name for a different market to be appealed to it.

Has anybody even used the word "bodacious" since the 80s? Sheesh. Why not "Gnarly Space Pirates" or "Faboo Space Pirates"?

I admit, i initially passed on watching this because of the name. That however does NOT mean i dislike the name itself, it's a fairly good name. It was just misleading enough to make me think it was going to be a bit more slapstick humor.
I actually started watching it when ep 15 was just airing, and i caught up in a couple days. Now i find myself just waiting with baited breath for each new episode.

I would laugh if they change the name to "MINI SKIRT PIRATE ADVENTURE PALOOZA, WITH LAZORS."
Anyways, "Bodacious Space Pirates" still sounds normal to me, I'll go with that.

I say leave it as is, I have no problem with bodacious though I do have a problem with miniskirts everyone should be wearing them in the anime but you don't see that plus my butt looks too big in one.
