If you haaave to go with a different name, then go with Moretsu Pirates, because y'know... fans. Otherwise, I say just keep it as Bodacious Space Pirates--it's actually a little more accurate than Moretsu Pirates and it keeps the awesome '90s vibe that the series has so much of!

I was going to say "Boobalicious Space Pirates" but "Moretsu Pirates" is easier and less likely to get you into trouble with Right-wing parents.... Although if you're parents are right-wingers they might not like you watching anime of any kind....

"Cosplay Space Pirates"
I absolutely adore the show, bodacious as they are. I could accept only one alternate title (listed above). In my opinion, the word "cosplay" conveys ideas like fun, exciting, youthful, cute, sexy, and bodacious!

Unlike most original Japanese titles, Moretsu is a perfectly good title. I've had to look up enough things by their original Japanese title that I understand how unwieldy it can be, especially for someone like me who hasn't studied any Japanese but Moretsu could easily be an English word. Besides, I don't think there is an English word that accurately describes what the author had in mind.

The anime community needs to remove its head from its collective behind, changing it to Moretsu is so elitist it's embarrassing.

I honestly do not mind "Bodacious" at all. Now, if I had to choose a different name I would go with Moretsu Pirates or Mini-Skirt Pirates.

Personally, I absolutely love the name it currently has. The Japanese name is also equally important. But honestly, this show is fun, intelligent and addictive. Bodacious really is a fitting name for the sense of the show. The word "bodacious" has more intellectual connectivity than a lot of other names could give it. Additionally this show in my opinion can equally give its grace to the word in the same way.
Some people mentioned when they last heard the word being years and years ago. But I stress the fact that you did remember it. Just as this show deserves to be remembered. It is fantastic. I have already tried to sway a bunch of my friends to watch it.
Don't get caught up in stereotypes. Participate in making it the new thing to be remembered.

I like the name Bodacious Space Pirates, we should stick with that. If I had to choose, I'd go with MINI SKIRT PIRATE ADVENTURE PALOOZA, WITH LAZORS. I don't like the show tbh though.

I'd say Moretsu Pirates, but if you wanted to go with an english name I've read that the 'proper' translation would be Mini-skirt Pirates. Not sure who came up with Bodacious.... -_-
