let's see

when i was in high school, i was not popular but i knew some of the people who were.

i guess the best way to put is this

i hung around motorheads, drugheads, some jocks, a few nerds, and misfits like me.

What's the point of being popular when you can do something that's more productive and useful?

I never tried to be popular. I mean everyone follows trends to a certain extent but I never had to try to be popular. I knew everyone in my school even though I was probably the most quiet and shy person you would ever meet back in the day. Despite being shy, I was able to be friends with almost anybody because I didn't like drama and kept to myself

I have a lot of friends but am not 'popular'. Nor do I try to be.
There are a lot of people that do try. Quite funny.
I gotta say that not all poplar people are bitches, some of my friends are 'popular' and very nice.
Others think they rule the world and they suck.

I like this topic it's interesting.
I think I want people to like me for who I am and I like having friends, so I suppose I'm trying to be popular.
But who I am is not yet confirmed so I just do what I think is right and try to be courteous, and treat people the way I want to be treated.
Living with preschool playground morals!!
It's fun to have good friends but I think if you have any friends they should be close ones because shallow ones
HURT a lot...people backstab other people.
I think I do it to sometimes, it's a bad habit, it's hard to break because usually people aren't aware of how much mean words can hurt.

I did that in jr high, realize how fake it was lol...dont want to lose sense of self and personal values. In high school I knew everyone it was like a big family so it didnt really matter lol. Be true to yourself, been real is more important than been popular imo.

im an army brat so i pretty much switched schools maybe twice a year . it was easy for me to make friends everywhere i went, the 'popular' crowd are usually the first ones to say hi to me, but i got along well with everyone .
but i never had that experience of saying oh yeah ive known those people all my life we grew up together and all that good stuff .
so i guess i never tried, or really cared . i just went with the flow . move again meet new people move again meet new people etc etc .

Nah being popular is not the most important thing for me. Instead of blending in with the 'in' crowd I had my own small circle of friends that I treasure. Some of the popular students were my friends during primary school that act as is they didn't know me at all in high school, which is kind of sad knowing that we got along well when we were kids.

I used to sit at the far back of my class and I observe my other classmates. Sometimes I saw the really really ugly side of them, even though some of them were popular because they're the 'friendly-smiling' person everyone wants to be with.
