Since I don't live in America I sadly won't be able to enjoy this opportunity, however if it does prove to be successful there could one day be a dedicated Toonami Channel like what we had here in the U.K for a while which was awesome.

So what shows are you looking forward to seeing again on Toonami and what shows would like to see air on Toonami?

12:00 a.m. - Bleach
12:30 a.m. - Fullmetal Alchemist
1:00 a.m. - Durarara!!
1:30 a.m. - Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
2:00 a.m. - FLCL
2:30 a.m. - Cowboy Bebop
3:00 a.m. - Bleach
3:30 a.m. - Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex 2nd GIG
4:00 a.m. - Bleach
4:30 a.m. - Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
5:00 a.m. - Durarara!!
5:30 a.m. - Cowboy Bebop

In case people don't believe me

~Damn, every single one of them are cool shows. When Toonami was still airing, the only shows I got to watch were Power Rangers: Wild Force and Ninja Storm! Hahahahahaah!!! Gundam Seed and GS Destiny was great though

I don't remember them airing Destiny. That's another series I still need to watch, since SEED is one of my favorite series of all time.

So all they're doing is turning their already existing anime block into Toonami? Kind of bittersweet for me. I was hoping it'd return to Saturday evening. Having Toonami on, and then transitioning it into Adult Swim anime night, was the best thing to happen to anime on cable TV before the Funimation channel.

I'll still watch it like I usually do, however. The way I see it, the more anime that's shown on television, the better. It's awesome having all of these legal places to watch anime, because with BitTorrent, you're only likely to download shows you've heard of.

Toonami is back and guess what? I don't give a damn because we now live in a world where you have the internet...in which we have Bittorrent, Netflix, YouTube, Hulu, and for god sakes...CRUNCHYROLL to get our anime fix these days.

So I don't get what the excitement is all about. No, don't ask me to tell that story again of how I got into sailor moon one day while the TV was on mute during toonami's hours.

Look at the lineup. You telling me you can't watch Bleach...um...now...on..Crunchyroll, at anytime? Just about most anime fans probably saw Cowboy Bebop at this point. The rest you can most likely see already or have seen already through Hulu or even by Bittorrenting them.

Why not focus on new anime series? Shows we haven't seen yet that these places don't carry?

It won't make a difference to me, since I don't even watch TV these days.

You don't get what the excitement is? You answered your own question.... The thing that brought alot of people into anime is coming back.
And the fact that a Tv network actually listened to a bunch of old school anime fans is amazing if not unbelievable.

Anime was on the internet back then too? Like late 90s, but even today people may not have access to the internet.

Sure it's pretty much the same line up as before and is in a crappy time slot, but people find nostalgia in the format that Toonami presented it. People don't always want new, Sometimes the quality of old outweighs the quantity of new.

Your entitled to your own opinion (since this is what the topic is about ), but shedding some light on you.

But I'm super siked about it, Toonami was a motivation for me back then. Hell, still is.

it seem good, but to me it looks like they just gave a name to adult swim's Saturday night block of programing. when I first heard toonami
was coming back I hoped that the time slot would be weekday 1:00pm-5:00pm. I hated when cartoon network would hold of showing anime
to 1 o'clock in the morning, and show family guy at 9,or 10 o'clock, so the pushed back time couldn't have been for content. the last thing I wanted to mention was that I know that inuyasha the final act is going to release on DVD, and blu ray in the fall but I still hope it airs on
adult swim. I always thought bleach, and inuyasha would compliment each other if they were paired together, but that never happened
because inuyasha ended just before bleach started up, so I looks like this is cartoon networks last chance to pair bleach, and inuyasha up
before they both air.

1:00 Casshern Sins (New)
1:30 FMA: BrotherHood - same 'ol
2:00 GITS:SAC 2nd Gig - same 'ol
2:30 Cowboy Bebop - same 'ol

They really should start at 9pmEST though so they could get in comedy like Shin-Chan and Sgt Frog

Is that going to be the official line-up? I saw a trailer for the upcoming toonami and I don't think I saw any of those in the list they were giving, but who knows. If it is the list then it'd be way better than what I saw! lol.

This article at ANN:

http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2012-05-18/toonami-new-schedule-to-be-kept-secret-until-may-26

states that a VP from Cartoon Network and Adult Swim commented on this list published by TV Guide as follows:

"That is NOT the lineup. But to be clear, I don't think that's a bad lineup."

They have stated that the actual lineup for the new Toonami will be revealed on May 26th, no sooner!

I have some guesses:

Supernatural - It is owned by Warner, the parent company of Turner Broadcasting, who owns Cartoon Network and Adult Swim, and has never been broadcast. (It was released as an OVA.) It fits the "new original anime programming" that they have talked about for the show...

Kamisama no Memochou - It would have to be dubbed, but this was made by Warner Bros. in Japan, so it would be a logical addition.

Others that I would expect to see:

High School of the Dead (This one is pretty racy, even for over night cable, but I think TAN already put it on cable once, so I bet they could do it.)
Angel Beats
All the other things that CN and AS already have rights to...

Shows I would love to see, not because I think they have a chance of making it on Toonami, but for purely personal and selfish reasons:

Toradora!
Zakuro
Mawaru Penguindrum
Madoka Magica
Gosick
Waiting in the Summer
Hanasaku Iroha
Mysterious Girlfriend X
Kids on the Slope
Sound of the Sky
Steins;Gate
both seasons of Last Exile
ALL of Shakugan no Shana.

The reason? It would mean that they would be dubbed.

Ones that have a more legit chance:
Spice & Wolf
Haruhi
Full Metal Panic
Okamisan
Ah My Goddess
Eden of the East
Clannad and After Story

I don't have cable either, but since AS and CN have been relying on shows as old as GiTS and Cowboy Bebop (which, don't get me wrong, I LOVE THOSE SHOWS!), I'm really not looking forward to any anime they air. I'm surprised they haven't been showing Robotech and Gundam Wing or something else from their ancient vaults. I would like to see them show more new stuff, and change their line-up more than every 4 years, rather than relying on Bleach for new content. They need more long-running shows to fill their programming with, I'm tired of seeing the same handful of shows that are over in 24 or 48 episodes (or 6 episodes in the case of FLCL).

I'll stick with Crunchyroll.

This just in: They announced the schedule earlier than they said! Here is is:

12:00 a.m. - Bleach
12:30 a.m. - Deadman Wonderland
1:00 a.m. - Casshern Sins
1:30 a.m. - Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
2:00 a.m. - Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex 2nd GIG
2:30 a.m. - Cowboy Bebop

It repeats at 3:00 a.m.

Also, from the ANN article on it:

DeMarco also clarified Adult Swim's May 16 press release, which said that the network is developing "new original anime programming" for Toonami's return. Toonami will not have original titles created specifically for the programming block, "just new acquisitions." DeMarco said that he personally "love[s] One Piece and would love to see it on CN again" along with Gundam Wing. Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt, Fairy Tail, and Inuyasha: The Final Act are some of the "many shows we've been looking at" or discussed.

If it was the line up listed by the OP, then I don't see why I would care, since Adult Swim has been playing those things forever, on repeat, and I could careless. If they actually showed something NEW, or something other than Bebop (don't get me wrong, it's one of the best to me but it has been on TV for YEARS). Yes, Toonami was awesome back in the day, but if it's gonna play the same stuff that Adult Swim has BEEN doing, then I wont bother.
