Japan's subtleties with love triangles is one of the things that drew me into manga and anime have really had an impact on me over the years. Especially since I primarily follow Shonen. It even led me to look into and enjoy some Shojo and think I'm better for it.

I made a short story that I think shows exactly how Romance can be important and influence the flow of a story even if it isn't the primary theme: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1LN0WVUTrN1Ap4AXzC7YF2vArzHpjcqtG_CkQ2BGtQIk/edit#

I'm a fledgeling novelist and I just wanted to pick the brains of the anime watching community of their favorite Romance elements in Manga. Considering my first exposure to the medium was Ranma 1/2 I initially had a pretty skewed view... But then a friend suggested Maison Ikkoku for an absolutely amazing romance in a series that remained quirky as hell.

If my writing in general interests you I have the first three chapters of my novel and other neat stuff here: http://dimanagul.wordpress.com
