If you do -- why do you and when did you start?

And for those that don't, what are your opinions on smoking?

Do you care if your lover smokes?

All the guys in my family (uncles + cousins) smoke but I don't think I will.

I don't smoke. Why, maybe pollution, lol.

Edited : I also agree with SilverxButterfly; Sometimes I find the smell of smoke attractive, but not all the time.

I've had secondhand all my life. I began actually smoking about 1.5-2 years ago. Still, I don't really smoke very much. I only smoke real cigarettes and weed when offered or when I'm with friends. I've still yet to buy a pack only for myself. I usually smoke my electronic cigarettes. I smoke those probably about 3 times a week, down from smoking 5 times a week. I've also had a few cigars. I LOVE to hookah. I hookah for up to 2 hours at a time. I frequently borrow my friend's hookah because she lives with me and doesn't use it much. I do it for stress relief and because it feels good to smoke, especially if you also drink and do other stuff.

I don't understand the deal about nicotine being addictive. If I want to, I can easily go a month without smoking anything.

I don't care if a girl smokes. At least, not anymore. I've kissed some smokers and I'm used to it by now. I don't like the smell of cigarette and cigar smoke (and it also burns my eyes if I'm smoking and the wind blows toward me). I am okay with hookah and weed smoke, though. Electronic cig vapor is also fine.

I smoke every now and then usually when my anxiety gets the better of me, but I’m in no way addicted since I can go weeks and months without it.
My reasons are, well, already mentioned. I find the smell somewhat nice, but sometimes it smells like shit gone wrong… I think it depends on the brand.
My personal feelings towards smoking are: if you want to smoke, then smoke, but take responsibility for it; Nature is sacred so don’t burn it down, don’t smoke indoors or in bed, be respectful to people with asthma and remember that we’re all going to die sooner or later of one thing or the other.

Word of advice? im 22 years old and start smoking back when i was in year 7-8ish which is when i was about 13-14 and i would do ANYTHING just to quit but it's so god damn hard. People dont usually believe quitting smoking is hard but it's not an addiction it's a habit, you learn to smoke after meals, sex, while driving, on breaks, when you're tired, nervous all these things and just stopping cold turkey is just insanely hard. Even cutting down is hard since your body get's used to it and you don't realize you're smoking until its too late.

So from an older point of view and from experience DO NOT EVER SMOKE cause if you ask any smoker over the age of 20 he will tell you one thing and that is he WISH HE NEVER STARTED SMOKING.

No.
My opinion is that it's just another form of escapism or stress reliever like religion.

Smoking doesn't cure anxiety, actually, it increases it... And smoking affects everyone's health.

Cigarettes are a stimulant, the same as coffee. The initial calming feeling you get when you have a smoke isn't due to the effects of the ciggie, it's due to your brain getting it's fix. On the flip side, when you are smoking your breathing is more controlled which helps with anxiety.

There is no cure for anxiety and there never will be (it's a required function for us to continue to exist) but it is manageable though things like CBT so go see your doctor and get stuck into courses that'll teach you methods to cope with the anxiety that doesn't involve shoving a ton of chemicals into your lungs.

I do smoke, have done for years even after health problems with my lungs (including operations on my lungs) but ex-smokers are the worst, they are all "ohh I hate smoke now, can't stand it, you should give up like me" etc. so I smoke just to annoy them.

I tried smoking, I couldn't get over the taste and smell (ruined most food and drink I had) also the cost was pretty damn high so I stopped after a couple weeks.

In relation to the 'look' of smoking, there are countless numbers of tricks that can be pulled off to make smoking look good, but in reality, it never looks as good as it does in media, much like a lot of stuff you see.

Nope. Although I'm pretty curious how it feels like.
I tried the electronic cigarettes and I love the strawberry flavor.

I'd rather be a bitchy ex smoker than the dumbass smoking my cigarettes through a hole in my throat.

I smoked for 15 years, Marlboro Reds, and God did I love them, but I am inherently a cheap, cheap bastard, so eventually the time came and we had to part ways.

Quit smoking on 4/20 last year (wanted to remember the date lol)

Yeah, cigarettes were awesome, and I loved them, and I could pack a pack of cigarettes to put men to shame, and I always looked cool as hell, but all good things must come to an end, as they say.

But I'm the one who chose to start smoking and I'm the one who chose to quit, but how you gonna let some little paper dick hanging out your mouth control your life??
