I couldn't agree more Pumpking, D.A.R.E. is a joke. Children or not, they should be told the truth about it and let them decide for themselves when they get older.

Benefits of smoking-
Up to 10% increased metabolism
Helps to control breathing (people with anxiety or panic attacks)
Bonding(meeting other people that smoke is kind of an ice breaker)
Creating a Ritual(it's nice to wake up and have coffee and a cig)

Impairing effects-
After smell on clothes, car, furniture, hair
Yellow teeth(after continued use and/or lack of proper hygiene)
Increased blood pressure
Lung/Mouth damage

I don't condone OR endorse smoking, everyone should be able to decide for themselves.
If you don't smoke, at least try it once so you can tell your kids why it isn't good to do.

Protip: American Gov't is trying to make it a law that every pack of cigarettes has a grotesque picture on it of what it can do to you.

Smoking lowers your metabolism... Nicotine is a poisen, you know.. the cancer thing?

Helping breath? are you trolling? Prove inhaling smoke helps you breathe.

Ya if you get to meet other people making bad decisions.

I didint know narcotic rituals could be used as a positive.

You're obviously trolling if you just use the words damage and smell. what about the dead? or the dying, or underage who are going to experience it? Id appreciate you get some facts straight before you try to lay some down.

The facts right now are smoking helps lax your bowls, and is a proven stimulant. Everything else is negative. no sugar coating.

On that note you're welcome to do with your life as you want, its the one thing you truly posses,I took the road of ecstacy and got off easy. I wish everyone the best, and live life to its fullest, smoking is part of the experience, you love it or hate it, every action has a reaction. and we move on. spin spin says earth!

You clearly have no idea what you're talking about. You're an idiot.

This is the closest I could find to proving my point, I could not find a .gov website to prove or disprove it.
http://quitsmoking.about.com/od/weightgain/a/metabolism.htm

I said "controlled breathing" not improved or helped.

You said "Ya if you get to meet other people making bad decisions."
This right here proves your biased judgement. So stop acting like a douche. These are Pro's and Con's and I specifically stated I DO NOT ENDORSE OR CONDONE. Meaning everything I said is UNBIASED.

FYI- I'm not trolling, I don't say "Smoking Kills" because smoking is an accelerant and contributor to death. It is not always the sole reason.

People like you piss me off, you think anything that goes against your beliefs or values is wrong and fight tooth and nail to prove it.

One more thing, when you tell someone that their info is wrong, maybe you should quote some sources beforehand. Otherwise you just look like a fool.

And I quote, "Id appreciate you get some facts straight before you try to lay some down." Please tell me where your info comes from? I don't like when people attack me and say I'm wrong but cannot prove their own words.

I did not attack you so please don't attack me. If you feel anything I have said is wrong or mis-stated, have a little respect and be more polite when addressing me with the issue.

I'm an ex-smoker, I pick it back up briefly every now and then.

Picking up in the first place was the worst decision I've ever made. Addictions never, ever go away

edit: Some jagoff was actually trying to defend smoking from a health perspective? Ahahahha. Oh my god.

nope, i'm 13,never tried smoking and don't plan to in case i end up getting addicted like a lot of people do.Someone actually came to our school to talk about smoking and the effects and after the 15minute presentation he said approximately 90 people would had died from smoking world-wide in the 15 minutes he was talking. so yeahh.. like i said never smoked hopefully never will

I've never heard of anyone actually being influenced by one of those shitty school talk things. You must be real gullible, eh? Hohoho.

eh your not the first person whos told me that, so your most likely right ive always planned on not smoking but then again most people my age apart from afew are in the "i'm never going to smoke, drink alot or do anything bad" mindset, but who knows i may end up smoking one day, but i still highly doubt it considering none of my relatives have smoked in there lives apart from maybe once or twice just to see what it's like. But then again, im most likely just being a typical naive 13 year old

I don't smoke because I find it very unattractive to smoke. If my lover smoked, I'd be okay with it but i wouldn't love the fact that she smokes

When i was 13, I was preventing World War 3 by sabotaging French Missiles gathered by a Half-Russian American Warlord who planned to gain world domination.

Flavored cigarettes are illegal in America.

On another note I quit smoking about a month ago after 7 years(age 15-22) just because I felt like it. I'm saving a ton of money but I miss the feel of it sooo bad. I don't know if the money I save offsets the torment I put my body through by denying it it's hourly fix.

It's a friend who gave it to me and I didn't know that it's illegal in America. I'm not from America btw. I don't think it has the same effect as that of smoke cigarettes since it doesn't have nicotine content. Seriously, I don't want to be addicted to smoking so I will never try to do it.

Oh no no. I didn't mean e-cigs are illegal, actually I've heard that they're quite helpful when it comes to quitting. I meant real flavored cigarettes are illegal, but since your not in america that most likely doesn't apply to you!

Btw, I commend you for not smoking. I quit smoking but I regret ever starting. I've wasted thousands on nicotine not to mention that annoyingly stupid cough it's given me. TT.TT

No worries, I would absolutely not let myself to temptation. LOL. It's just that 90% of my friends smoke and they are forcing me to try it. Yay!

I don't smoke anything. All those TV shows with morals actually got to me as a kid, but also the many chemistry classes that I took in college showed me what exactly happens when you smoke and why it's so bad for you. I don't do any drugs, and even watch the strength of over the counter medication that I buy. I also don't drink alcohol or caramel-colored soda pop.
