I don't think much about it. It's not my business how they live they're life. Though it is quite annoying, but it's whatever.

They're the same as those kids trying to dress up as rockabilly goobers, punk rock posers, try too hard hippies and lonely greasers, mostly just interested in the look, rather than the reality. Japan has them too, no worries. It's a fantasy, we all have them, most of us are just asleep when we do. :P

Not true as it is a popular term to use to describe the western anime fanbase among western anime fans. However, we really SHOULDN'T be using it. "Otaku" is a word with nothing around it outside of negative connotations, especially obsession. Not to mention that "otaku" can describe any obsession, thus it isn't even attached to anime be necessity. I really don't get why the western fandom latched onto the word like it did.

Say what i said isn't true...and then say what I think...that's one quick change of mind.

Yeah, not really. You simply called anyone who uses the word weeaboo. I wouldn't go that far. If you have the same reasoning that I do, great. Too bad that there was nothing in your one line post that would indicate that.

I also took Japanese last semester for my college minor. Does that make me a Weeabo? lol.

Could you tell me what 打から means because I have no idea.
Also, you don't need the は in your last line.

As for the topic, they're not hurting anyone so I don't care what they do. Live and let live.

To each his own. I can empathize with them, but am not actually interested in changing who I am to become a weeaboo.

I log on to Crunchyroll on a bad day from work and only to find a 4chan style post like this? Sh*t guys, sh*t!

You know what I find more annoying; Anime fans who perpetuate this self-hate amongst themselves. Everyone I know who does not like anime/or their fanbase doesn't even invoke the slang word; its unheard among them. In fact, the only people who intimidate Anime fans/Jpop fanatics are Anime "fans" themselves.

People from the Comic Book, Star Wars, and various geek fandoms wonder why Anime geeks perpetuate this hate amongst themselves? Even Youtube and online cannibal trolls have given up in their trolling attics against JPOP lovers. ED, urban dictionary, and the rest of those entries are all written by Anime "fans" who spend time, well, on hating other Anime/Jpop fans. Its pathetic if I dare say so like myself.

I believe this caste system perpetuated by some of the people in this community to create the most "acceptable"(repressed) fan makes the fanbase look pathetic to many outsiders. What's more is that we are becoming more and more like the Japanese Otaku. We shove aside our fandom and pretend to have nothing to do with it, only to find ourselves shut in the comfort in our own rooms/basements resuming our hobbies; with self-hate, self-guilt.

Marvel/DC/Star Wars fans are perfectly fine with their fandom. I even saw a man dressed as Captain America in Los Angelos on my way to to see the movie. Sure he got some troubled stares but he could give sh*ts to what they thought. He just dressed like that for the premier of that movie. Now that's hardcore fandom I don't blame the guy. I was with CAPAmerica shirt and Cap for the movie. I could give sh*ts to what people thought of me or the man cosplaying CAPAmerica.

Should we care what others think of us in the Anime fandom? Hell no!

I proudly wear my Edward Elric(FMA), Dragon Ball Z, and Chobits shirt. If I'm a "weeaboo" for just expressing the slightest hint of my fandom and for introducing others to Anime/Jpop by making friendly comparison with American tv shows/movies, so be it. Better to be a "weeaboo" than a closeted, self-hating, Anime "fan" that's for sure.

Geeks of various fandoms wear their shirts proudly in the public. I see lots of folks wear their Marvel/DC/Star wars/geeky shirts on a daily bases. Why not Anime? Why not Jpop? Is it bad? Should we make it bad? Of course not!

So what do I expect out of anime fans? I'm not telling you to be cosplaying or spouting Japanese catch phrases in the open public. No I'm telling you to come out of your closets and endorse your hobbies; endorse yourselves. What's the point of being into Jpop/Anime to begin with if you're just gonna be closeted about it?

As a 22 year old carpenter and mechanic raised in a libertarian household, we were taught that the worst thing you can do is collectivize others. Engaging in acts of collectivism binds one to their hallow world devoid of individualism and human thought.

Personally, I believe that the collectivists within our community are a small but tired minority. They are the disenchanted people, that people who ponder why those around them are so excited, penchant, or exhilarated by their hobbies. Some of them regulars. Others not. Some of them are vulnerable to labels and others tremble at the thought of being marginalized by their own world. Some will doubt and others will deny.

Its easy to understand the collectivist from within and outside the community once you put the puzzles together. I won't deny those who deviant from our passion as they frequently point out but then again, should we care? Why should should we give care to those around us? Why should we care what others think about us and our hobbies? Don't some of those hobbies fill the void in your life? Why should we move away from something we are passionate about?

Opinions, that's all they are. What people think about you and your life translates not to mandates but to mere collectivism propelled by delusions. All notions that your hobbies and those around you invalidate your self-worth should be dismissed. Enjoy life as its meant to be, not as others see fit.
