I dont understand either -.- the guy that asked for my number in the past (which I rejected), turned into this selfish, careless prick, and now he has all the koreans on his side (he's korean). I guess they like how they can also act selfish around selfish people themselves? they feel like a powerful pack... you get what I mean?

I don't get it too. Oh well, I'm just an average person who only wishes to have a peaceful life. But I can be a Bitch when somebody is bitching around me.

Because stepping on weak people makes you look like you're on a pedestal.

Hmm, this should be fun.

Some people have arrogance/confidence in abundance, the problem with that is the number of people that can't tell the difference between the two (in practice). This leads to situations where people mistake arrogance for confidence and end up following the "leader", as let's face it, humans are social/pack animals.

Another angle is the idea behind the "bad boy" image, that of the rule breaker and rebel, it's an attractive ideal for young people but in practice it doesn't work out so well and many grow out of it (seeking or being). However many people have limited ideas and range, and as such can't express that rebellious attitude very well so they resort to rebelling against common courtesy or "minor" laws (theft/vandalism).

A third angle is the idea that some people possess a certain... something, which can't be explained but attracts people for many different reasons (good/bad/indifferent), many people aren't aware of this and it's a concept that is extremely difficult to put into words.

As to the idea of "Nice guys finish last"... that's a self defeating prophecy, if you thing nice guys finish last, and you believe yourself to be a nice guy, then you believe that you will finish last (you are already mentally beaten). The only way to get over this? Stop believing that nice guys finish last, easier said than done though.

Personally, I think it comes down to perception, many people perceive me as a confident individual and act accordingly when near me, but in reality, I'm just an exceedingly arrogant person, yet people are drawn to me all the same. This just means that people who you perceive to be arseholes or wankers (or what ever word your society uses) could be perceived as nice people by others, it doesn't mean your perception is wrong or theirs is right, it is just a difference in perception.

Not that many will read this... too many words for most users of the CR forums.

why does today's society associate being a prick with being cool? I don't understand why people like people who treat others like dirt and dislike someone who is kind to others.

You pretty much just associated yourself as being a prick and is cool with such action, if you want to assume it was about you.

No you quoted me and it was a vague reply. I thought you were saying that is a normal french society situation.

Nope. Was responding to the application about being a prick and is cool with such action = French people in action. Not you. ;P

Maybe it's just because I'm not in school anymore, but I don't really see this behavior anymore. I mean in school, it was considered "cool" to exert a form of superiority over others, or as students like to call it, being popular.

I don't get what you are saying.
