While it's true that Northerners are generally not as friendly as Southerners, there are exceptions. I find that areas near universities are a little looser. I'm used to northerners as I was born in the Seattle area, lived near El Lay (LA), then lived near Houston, and now live near Seattle again.

If you're insinuating that living in the south means I would be disrespecting the laws of the United States, then I would likely favor the North instead where things are more orderly.

If you mean having a good time like setting big bonfires, creating explosions in open fields, and tearing around the countryside in a hummer, on the other hand .. that actually sounds quite charming.

Either way, it's going to be more humid and warm than where I live now.

I'm from California, so I think the weather is perfect. It's warm, but not humid. No mosquitoes as in the south. But we are always in fear of the big one: Earthquake. So I guess there is no place that's perfect.

I enjoy living north because I love the changing of the seasons. Seeing fall's changing of the leaves, watching spring come in bloom, water parks on hot summer days. Yes, snow is a pain but when you have free time it's great to have a snow ball fight with friends. I have family that lives in Florida and growing up the only time my family and I would visit was during the summer due to school. All I remember is that it was terribly hot and very humid. I've heard that winter is a great time to visit. But if the other 75% of the year is ridiculously hot, then I don't think it's worth it.

The North is ruled by the Starks, so I'd prefer living up here.

That's funny, I think of the South as being more strict. Like everyone has to go to church and dress up in nice clothes.

Where I live, people will pretty much let you live any lifestyle you want.

There's more regions than simply "north" and "south."

I'm a southerner. I like it down here. I'm not that far down, though. I'd say I'm in the higher middle.

As for the south being more strict, that's only with an older generation of Baptist people.

I'd way rather be in the northern regions of the U.S. Not only do I prefer really cold temperatures, constantly, I think the north is a bit more liberal (New York, Michigan, Chicago, ect) so I'd definitely prefer to be there.

I was born in Boston I now live in Florida but If I had a choice I'd live in the middle around Delaware , Maryland and Virginia. What I miss most are full Seasons. Snow and trees changing colors cool Springs and not so extremely hot summers. I'm only here because of economics. I make enough to servive but not enough to pull up roots and start again. As for people nothing bad to say I've met good and bad everywhere as I do travel all over America on occation only two states have been missed and that's Hawaii and Alaska
