I'm friends with this one girl. I have no plans on taking it any further, and I'm sure she doesn't as well. So I guess......yes.

We're all lustful human beings. We may be just friends on the outside but being conscious or not something's brewing in your minds. And don't bullshit cus you know it's true.

I think you can, but it has to be something that you and your friend both understand. I've noticed it can be much harder to be just friends when I'm in a relationship, as being close friends with a girl doesn't always sit well with the gf. If one of the two start to make moves on the other though, that friendship will probably end in a relationship, or a friend you used to have.

excuse me, maybe in your case it's true, but I don't want to jump into bed with just any woman. maybe those with loose morals do or a lack thereof.

Sure they can. Sadly like many stated one side would want more than "friends" relationship. If you learn to control your feelings or suppress them, then you shouldn't have trouble making female friends.

Yes.

Yeah as long as you don't have an overbearing, overprotective boyfriend/husband who doesn't let you get close to anybody. Male or female.

Just an input for those who preach that men and women who have sexual encounters will HAVE TO love each other:

No. Men and women can be just friends while having sex too.

Friends for benefits.

It's definitely possible to be friends with the opposite gender. I have lots of female friends, and probably my closest friend in the world is a girl, and it's entirely platonic. I think a big part of why those friendships work is that I have absolutely no romantic interest or attraction to them (to be clear I'm straight, I'm just not attracted to my friends that are girls).

What I don't think is possible, though, is to just be friends with someone you have romantic feelings for (not without driving yourself crazy anyway ).

sure they can be just friends, but at some point one party is gonna feel something toward the other, I think. However that can be gotten over with time (in my experience anyway).

Short answer: Yes, men and women can be JUST friends.

Slightly longer answer: There is NO SUCH THING as the friend-zone. It was idiotic "phrase" created to give a different name to one-sided affection. Just because someone doesn't share the affection you have for them, does not mean they "friend-zoned" you, it means they do not feel that way about you, hence one-sided affection.
