I'd recommend picking up the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection and then playing Metal Gear Solid 4.
And if you don't like stealth-action games, then I'd say get Journey from the PSN..it's a quick two hour game, but it's worth it. :3

I haven't played too many PS3 games, but why not check out the Atelier series? There's Rorona, Totori, and Meruru (with a fourth one on the way). It's a time management game, with addictive alchemy, beautiful characters, and adorable leads.

Borderlands. I haven't sunk so many hours into a game since Phantasy Star: Online for Gamecube. I think it'll be topped by Borderlands 2 though, more everything.

If you're looking for action definitely check out the Uncharted Series. Uncharted 2 is one of the best games of all time - and 3 polishes it further.
As far as hardcore RPGs I've yet to find anything that blew my socks off (unless you're into Elder Scrolls / Fallout). The Mass Effect series is one of my favorite RPGs of all time but it's more action oriented. The first one isn't on the PS3 but if you buy a new copy of ME2 it'll come with a 10-20 minute interactive comic that allows you to make the big decisions from the first game.
Of course there's also Metal Gear Solid 4, Little Big Planet, Grand Theft Auto 4, Dead Space, Starhawk, and Red Dead Redemption are all fun.
There's sooo many great things about Dragon's Dogma but for some reason it just started to bore me. The combat and the whole day/night system was superb, though. I still need to sit down and play Disgaea. Those games look fun. |
