How do you feel about wearing a swim suit?

I admit, the first time I wore a swim suit I was really nervous and that was back in elementary school. It was pretty traumatizing because I wore a extremely bright and neon green one, but I'll probably never be brave enough to wear a two piece.

How about for guys? I would imagine it would be weird to be shirtless in public or is that not a big deal?

if you want you can discuss about the swim suit you have already chosen for summer. I currently have a black one, one piece of course. It's the same one I had for my swimming class back in high school but who the hell cares

I go swimming every summer. I started to get swimming lessons not long after I learned how to walk and run, so I'm pretty comfortable around a pool or beach environment.

It never felt weird for me to be shirtless in public. I don't feel like I'm exposed or anything when I'm wearing my trunks and walking around bare-chested. It's probably a bigger issue with girls. I know some girls won't get in the water if it's her "time of the month."

I'm personally kinda conflicted on it. On one hand, I don't care if people see me, in any state of dress/undress. Most of the population is familiar with what's under someone's clothes. But on the other hand, I'm a shy person who knows that I'm not really anything to look at. I thus get self-conscious with being in public as such, and get quite nervous. It's one of the things I'm going to be working on curing this summer, actually. Hopefully I don't have to go into shock treatment for it should it not work. I'm figuring that would be to find a nudist beach. Hey, flinging me around on roller coasters cured my fear of heights, so...

Ehh, I was a nationally ranked swimmer in the U.S. so walking around in a bathing suit was no big deal. I mean I looked good, still do...

I am almost impossible to embarrass. Wearing nothing but swimming trunks is just fine with me. Even when I was just a wee lad taking swimming lessons it never bothered me one bit.

They did make fun of my two misshapen toes, though. Everyone does at some point.

Speedos .. I don't know. By their very nature they're quite tight, and I generally dislike tight clothing. I imagine they'd be more embarrassing for a guy to wear than swimming trunks.

I generally have nothing to worry about in the first place since I'm always the one who dives headfirst into the water before anyone else and comes back up yelping "IT'S SO COOOOLD!!!" before going back under several more times.

Looking like a total spaz might be more of a concern for me at the beach, personally.

I've never felt any type of embarrassment or shyness when it comes to this. I walk around with no shirt and just cargo shorts a lot when I'm lounging around my house.

I anxiously wait for this time of year... I get to see what you have and the same goes for whatever female is looking at me. Its a win, win scenario.

I find it funny that people seems to have hang up's about swim wear, I my self wear shorts and a tank top or shirtless when playing vball. I could careless what someone thinks if they have that much of an inferiority complex that they need to make themselves feel better by criticizing my cloths then by all means knock yourself out.
There's only one person in this world who's opinion I value, and shes no issue after 17 yrs of being together with seeing my shirtless on the beach.

When I was a child, it never bothered me. I always wore a one piece and felt comfortable in it. Today, I haven't put on a swimsuit in years and I don't have any plans on putting on one anytime soon.

I wear a short speedo swimsuit the first week or so of summer just to get an even all over color then I wear the baggier swim shorts. No shirt.
