Don't mistake kindness for weakness.

Men who embrace the most gently and love the most passionately will often fight the most ferociously to protect what they care for.

Your naive attitude is why the cliche "nice guys finish last" exists. Open your eyes child.

well seeing how 99% of the girls like the guys that have their jeans as low as their toe and they run around screaming "swaaaag" every where i think if you do this respect you will just come off as a pussy. Also i really hate how women say we are supposed to treat them on a equal level but if you punch one every one will say "oh dont punch a girl bro not cool" i mean im not encouraging it im just pointing it out

Lol.
Dude, I am not a child.
Nor do I need to change my attitude.
I like kindness but I want him to be slightly assertive in the relationship.
I don't want a guy who is too kind to wear I am fighting off his bullies.
You don't know who I date so your opinion anyways is already unvalid.

i think a lot of women want this

someone who will hold the door for them, pull out a chair, all that stuff, and just be generally nice and fun to be around.

But in the bedroom they want this

they want someone who is gunna take charge, maybe be a lil rough, and pin em up against the wall and that kinda good stuff~

basically most girls like a good fun guy who has a lil bad boy in em too~

Chivalry, Valiance, and Gallantry, Honor. All are pretty much dead these days. Men and women alike

To be chivalrous, to be valiant, to be gallant, to be dashing. These values used to be applauded as the proper way a man should treat a lady.

The proverbial "knight in shining armor." A gentleman.

What do women think of a modern-day man who follows this code of conduct?

Do you think it's attractive? Or perhaps lame? Is it something that you think is too old-fashioned and archaic?

Do men feel that "chivalry truly is dead?" Have you ever been chivalrous in your life? How did women react to it?

Discuss.

Nice thread! I like chivalry, I love it when a guy is doing things for his girl, making her feel like she can depend on him. But she should do her part! because I don't think that just men should be chivalrous. A lot of women are attracted to the "bad boy" type then when something goes wrong; they want a "good guy" but they never actually get one because they keep repeating the cycle and that's one reason why people don't practice chivalry.

Another one, like I said above is the fact that when people think of chivalry they think of only the man doing it. Men and women are considered equal now so some consider it sexist and it is if only a man is doing it. It has a sexist background but your/the man's reason for doing it may have nothing to do with that! Chivalry is dead but there is still that concept of being/doing nice things for everyone!

Wasn't that a line up of failed sub-compact automobiles Chrysler manufactured back in the '70's and '80's to comply with government mandated fuel economies?

Guys who value chivalry naturally do these things without being told or without looking for anything in return. And no, they don't look like a pussy for doing so if they pride themselves on their chivalry. They just seem gallant. I'm a sucker for dudes who know how to treat ladies right, just because they're ladies. I don't look for such things in dudes, but when it happens I'm somewhat touched.

One Direction is made up of a bunch of gentlemen, it's why they're so popular.
