Balsa Yonsa from Moribito is the best example ever.
Just to let you know its a two way thing, you have (you as a girl) Inazuma Eleven, Black Butler, Kuroko's basketball and Ouran and many more. Why don't we get rid of all that shit too lol. Well fans will be fans whether your a girl or a guy. Tsundres and such have been around for a long time get over it, also why would they make a non pretty character? that is why it is very rare.

Another thing is if you watch more realistic shows like Monster, Planetes, Usagi Drop, Nodame or Space Brothers, that sort of thing tends to go away a lot more. Or really an anime aimed for older audiences in general.

Also with a profile pic like that you are basically supporting it lol...

Two examples from Madoka Magica stick out here, to me.

That takes some SERIOUS friggin' spirit, so don't tell me that strong women don't exist in anime.

I am in agreement that Balsa is the or among the ultimate examples of strong anime women (While there's obviously stronger women by power, I find Balsa to be among the strongest in will and character. Plus, she's got a nice body).

What are you talking about? There's truck loads of strong female characters in anime. I could probably name hundreds, but then I'd be doing your work for you. Go watch more anime and come back when you're less ignorant, please.

Way to create a poor image of women there, I haven't complained about all the tongue-kissing guy on guy stuff out there, as I am not in the intended audience for that.

You're not looking around much if you think this is such a specific issue. First, anime? No, all media carries this balance. No strong women? False. Not only are there plenty of strong women out there that can outdo men, but you also forget that there are women content creators out there creating works that suits women's fantasies. Further you've got content creators on both sides with other preferences leading to women creators making sexualized female characters and men making sexualized male characters.

There is fanservice for both sides everywhere, sometimes even side by side in one place like Fairy Tail. While Fairy Tail provides fanservice like putting the all powerful Erza in limited clothing, you have Gray going so far as to be 100% naked one episode with the camera going low enough to prove his lack of even underwear. I did not complain, just as I like the fanservice meant for me, I'm okay with people of opposite preference getting their share of fanservice.

Fiction is not meant to be an imitation of reality, it is desires realized. A creator will create their desires. A male will make male desires, a female will make female desires. Genre of content will vary by the creator's desires. Thus with the number of content creators, there is likewise content addressing all facets of desire.

It is blindness to say there is inequality. Ask around if you need help finding content to suit your tastes, not condemning what suits others' preferences.

Judging by the OP's effort to make a bad name for females, I would assume a troll. But I don't mind responding seriously for other bypassers.

The few strong females are not role-models of feminine power but are actually nothing more than male-wish fantasy with outlandish archetypal behavior, belittling personalities and of course always with extreme beauty.

We need to end the sexism and male-domination in anime by demanding equal representation of genders!

Too long have women been subjugated by animators, seen as nothing more than sexual items and confined to the role s of high school student, magical girl, and other over-played and cliche character personalities.

Doesn't it make you sick when you see the feminine stupidity of harem shows such as Rosario+Vampire? Each of these girls merely represents one vision of what MEN want. A shy girl, an aggressive girl, a smart girl etc.

But why aren't there any realistic women in anime??

These shows, while perhaps seeming harmless on the outside, are actually fostering the grown of subconscious sexism within the minds of all the male viewers. Disgusting men watch these shows and convince themselves: 'yes this is how women are; they is how they should really be'.

Well I've got news pigs. Us women are tired of your chauvinism!

I propose a boycott on anime that is sexually biased.

LONG LIVE FEMINIZAS!!!

Thought I would never see the day someone actually voiced what I've always known.

I wouldn't say it subconsciously gives men ideas on how to treat women, but it does certainly influence quite a few. I'm male and I know sexism and poor female representation has always been rampant in both the manga and anime industries. Scratch that... make it most industries in general. Sexism is a global battle still with countless influences which are just plain retarded. Politics and religion only muddies the water further.
Makes you wonder why humans can be the most intelligent and most idiotic race at the same time. That aside, it is time you viewed Kōkyōshihen Eureka SeveN. Very realistic and strong female characters, the best female characters I know of in anime especially the titular character, Eureka. Sure, not all the female characters are up to par, however, trust me the characters' personalities will be keeping your attention.

I might advertise Eureka Seven frequently, however, the characters especially the female characters are what I found most unusual and fascinating. To be frank, the female characters are the ones really calling the shots in your main cast. The males are actually spineless cowards for the most part. Give it a try and you'll feel just a tad better that at least there are some anime out there that make an honest attempt and actually succeed in developing a worthwhile female character.

I would argue that it is the female audience that is shallow in tendency. There is a plethora of deep female characters in anime from Urumi Kanzaki to Noda Megumi. Male character depth is almost non-existent though and is far more dependent on situational developments(forced into drag, locked in a room, etc) than character growth.

Anyways, your post doesn't warrant the proper response above.
