Everyone's obsessed with the characters. I'm more concerned about the controls. I am really thinking that the controls might be a bit clunky.

They have four different controls scheme, Wii remote & Nunchuck, Wii remote (sideway), Classic controller amd Gamecube controller. You can also customixe the control to your liking.

I don't know why some people are confuse over Shiek true gender. Zelda is a girl therefore Shiek is also a girl because they are the same person.
As for weather Mart and Roy was well known before Melee came out...no they weren't at least not to the american audience. Fire Emblem was an Japan only series. After Melee many fans wanted to play FE so Nintendo decided to bring the games to the US. Marth & Roy became well known after Melee not before.
Yea.. I just said that lol. Its after SSBM that marth and roy became popular. And probably from it FE became popular ( here in the states anyways). And Sheik is supposed to be a girl but it has been written that hes a boy. I don't recall where. I think in a manga or something. Either way Blah blah blah I just use it. Sheik's a ninja. The manga doesn't count cause Shiek originated in a video game. Anyway I think that Zero Suit Samus is the new "Shiek". She have the whip and much is much faster. I mean she's totally identical to Shiek in everyway. Some people actually speculated that by pressing a specific button before the match start Samus would become ZSS at the begining of the fight without using a Final Smash. I personally don't believe that.That defeat the whole porpuse of using a FS in the first place.
Lol then she it is. I thought taht ZSS is the new Shiek. But then again, it doesn't have what make Shiek great.... needles. Anyone who pull the whip in the game is by mistake or by a noob. And I hope Samus can start as ZSS (like zelda with shiek). Cause everyone I know don't place with items. Kinda annoying to keep items on. Either way, ZZS isn't Shiek and until they get her back... I'm not a happy camper :fury:
Besides.. what else can Zelda's down B be?
Oh and King DeDeDe is now in Smash. People was speculating it for a while heh. I wonder if Nintendo is reaching out to the fans with this one. If so, Marth and Shiek will definatly return *hopes*

I cant really see why they would cut any old characters, apart from the clones (and make them new characters all together (Ganondorf at least))
As for Marth and Roy, what alot of you are forgetting is that this game isn't made for America, it's made for the whole world in mind, including Japan. And with Fire Emblem currently being a 10 series long hit in Japan, i'd say Marth at least has a high chance of appearing because he is the Original Fire Emblem Main Character. And they couldnt just leave him in a Japn only release, because Lucas (from Japn only Mother 3), is in the US release.
Marth will be in it, no doubt. Roy may have been replaced by Ike and become a secondary costume for Marth (like what i think will happen to Pichu, Dr M, possibly Falco and maybe Daisy/ Shadow the Hedgehog.

Its just the 3 starters for the Pokémon Trainer. Meowth is a pokéball item pokémon that is exactly the same as he was in the original SSB

I don't think they'll replace falco. It was too popular for nintendo to just kill off the character. They usually don't like the disappoint the fans.

Sonic has been on several Nintendo consoles. It wasn't exclusive, though, so I see where you're coming from. Since they did allow Snake onto the roster, though, Sonic was an expected third party character. He's been speculated since before melee.
By the way, have you heard of the up and coming title "Mario and Sonic at the Olympics?"
